I have a fellow TA friend who has a client that wants fort wilderness. The client heard there was a coyote problem in the outer loops? Has anyone heard of this? I hope not since we plan on being there in November. Thanks,

Say what???

Don't think so! Definitely new to me. There's plenty woodland critters, but don't think there'd be any coyotes around! ;)

We did see some gators sunning on the bank around the canal but nothing more than that ever. A coyote would be cool to see tough as we have them here at home in the field and woods behind our house. I would certainly go for a stroll around the wooded walking path to try and see some.

Coyote? I seriously doubt that!

We did see a bobcat a few years ago . . . but I don't think there's ever been a coyote that far south!

They don't stand a chance against the squirrels.

You'll find coyotes in Florida much farther south than Disney World. I used to live in Brooksville, which is directly west of WDW. We had coyotes on our property all the time. I live farther south now, in a much more populated area, and there are still coyotes here. Except, the ones here can get pretty aggressive since they don't have very many places to hide.

I have acreage about an hour northeast of FW and can vouch for them being present here.

I would be surprised if there WEREN'T coyotes at ft wilderness. In Alabama I have seen more coyotes this year than ever before. They run in packs and are a huge problem to farmers and even in subdivisions

Am sure Disney will work on getting any prob under control at the Fort:scratchin

BUT I sure wouldn't want to go looking to see them!

I have been to the Fort more times than I can count and we have walked the banks of the canals multiple times each visit and have never laid eyes on a Gator, is this really that common?

No it's not common. Most are trapped and removed early in their growing period.

Of all the times I've canoe'd through the canals at the Fort, I saw one little gator maybe 12" long sunning on a long. There were more turtles than gators.

Biggest we saw was about 6' long sunning on the bank around the far side in the canal. We got about 5 feet from it and it just sat on the bank. My ex wife was not really happy to get that close to it lol. I love getting close to things like that. I do not like spiders though lol but snakes and lizzards and gators are all good to me. Beach Club had about an 8' in the canal by the bridge leading up to the check in doors and Coronado Springs had a really big one in one of the two front ponds as you enter the driveway. It was on the right side and it was a good 12' we stopped to look at it a few times. Boardwalk also had one in the small pond in front of the gas station it used to sit on the bank by the laneway heading in to the Board Walk.
