After reading Dr Hymel's latest post, a thought occurred to me. Does Disney have a protocol for what to do if a resort guest tests positive for Covid19? Will they quarantine them in their resort room? Kick them out of WDW to quarantine elsewhere? Move them to some designated quarantine area? Many of us have multiday trips, so I am curious what would happen. Any have any inside information or rumors?

I wondered that too, though I don't think WDW is testing for COVID. They are doing temperature checks, but that could be anything - they are not doctors, nor do I think they'd want the liability. They can limit admittance and that's about it.

I don't know how Disney would know someone tested positive. They probably do have a plan for if "someone becomes symptomatic".

I know Disney isn't testing, I was more thinking the possibility that someone in the party gets sick and you test locally. I guess Disney wouldn't know the results, but you are probably right, they must have a protocol in place for a guest who looks ill (coughing, sneezing, fever, and so on).

Disney, like most businesses/places, has signage/disclaimers in place, saying that if you're experiencing any of the following (list of symptoms like fever, coughing, etc.) then you should not enter. That being said, medical privacy issues are extensive, so I doubt Disney would, say, see someone coughing or whatever and say they should quarantine or can't come in. The temperature reading provides a specific, medically validated and measurable figure that they can use to deny entrance, something that doesn't have room for argument or interpretation like a vague symptom like a cough. But even that, if a guest was a complete jerk, they could load up on tylenol to get their fever down before going through the main gates.

Unfortunately, beyond the temp screenings and the disclaimers there isn't really much they can do.

I've been wondering about the same thing. Let's say someone from out of town gets sick in the middle of a 10 day trip. Goes to Urgent Care and finds out they have COVID. Now what? They will now have to stay somewhere for at least 2 weeks to possibly a month. Can't fly home until they test negative. Where are they supposed to stay?
