Covid Testing on Cruise

Hey Everyone!
I am thinking about taking a cruise but I am confused on how to make it work. I live in Canada so prior to entry into the US I have to get a covid test. This is fine. I can arrange that before I leave home but what I am confused about is I also need a covid test 72 to 24 hours prior to boarding my flight back into Canada. If I get off the cruise on Saturday morning and want to fly home that afternoon I would have needed to get a test on the cruise? Is that even possible?
Covid is sure making it more difficult to travel. Hope you have some ideas for me!

Just earlier today, DCL updated their Know Before You Go page with a testing option for guests who need to test before returning home. You have to pay for it, but now it's available.

Post-Cruise Testing Service for Guests Returning Home
Some Guests may be required by their home country or state public health authorities to show proof of a negative COVID-19 antigen or PCR test result before returning home by air. Inspire Diagnostics, Disney Cruise Line’s third-party testing provider, offers this optional service for $98.33 per person for PCR testing, and $41.40 per person for antigen testing. Guests are responsible for knowing what type of test their home country/state requires (PCR or antigen), and the window of time in which it must be conducted. Testing is conducted at the terminal after disembarking the ship. Results take approximately 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the type of test. This service is available for cruises beginning on or after January 31, 2022. For more information and to book an appointment, visit the Safe Passage website.

At this time, DCL is not offering onboard testing for the purpose of traveling post-cruise. You would need to get a rapid-test at MCO on debarkation morning before a flight later in the day (if that timing is acceptable to your airline/entry requirements). Or plan to stay in FL an extra night post-cruise to give you the 24-hour window.

I don't know if this option is allowed, so forgive me if not. It's just a suggestion!

We purchase the BinaxNow Covid-19 Ag Card Home Test to use for testing for our cruises (not DCL). They are virtually proctored rapid tests that are approved for multiple types of travel. I get a 6 pack from Emed.com for $150, but I believe Optum.com sells them as a 2-pack and 3-pack as well.

This might be an option if you purchase an internet package or were able to do it in port. They've worked really well for us and just wanted to pass along the info!

OP: If you want to get it done for free, you can do a rapid ID NOW test at many of the Walgreens near the ports. Accepted for entry into Canada, results in 1 to 2 hours. and totally free. The only caveat is that you have to book your appointment about a week out or whenever they open up new spots. These free appointments are snapped up in no time.

Thank you for sharing. We are starting to research options of our cruise in May. Did not want to spend an arm and a leg in testing.
