The Irish Prime Minister just gave a press conference detailing whats next for Ireland
Level 5 restrictions are to remain until April 5th
The only change between the last 6 weeks of lockdown and the next 6 weeks of lockdown is a phased return to in person schools.
March 1:
Final year of high /school secondary school / 17 and 18 year olds
Kindergarten and year one and two in primary school / children from 4 years old to 8 years old
March 15:
Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 in primary school / children from 8 years old to 12 years old
Second last year of high school / secondary school / 16 and 17 year olds
April 12:
All remaining high school / secondary school years.
After April 5th, depending on how low case numbers and deaths are, there will be a consideration on removing the 5km travel limit and the easing of restrictions on outdoor activities and mixing of households, as well as construction and sport.
Any further easing of restrictions after 5 April will need a further three to four week period to allow for assessment of the impact of changes.
There is no timeframe given for the reopening of hotels, restaurants, bars, leisure and tourism, or services such as hairdressers, beauty therapists etc.
