My wife and I really want to try the lobster nachos at the Cove Bar but our adult son, who is developmentally disabled, wont eat anything on the menu. (Wes is 25 but a 2~5 y/o mentally)
So my question is whether it would be acceptable to bring in something else from nearby or even a Smuckers Uncrustables sandwich from home.
I welcome your opinions.

Thanks,
Scott

We have never had any problems bringing food in to any Disney restaurant for our children, I think that it is completely acceptable!

Whatever works best for him, something from home or something purchased near by, will be just fine.

Have a wonderful trip and enjoy the nachos!

Thanks so much!

By the way, they sell Uncrustables at the Paradise Pier!

That's great news Amy but do you mean PP hotel or in the park someplace?

Thanks!

Sorry, at DCA in the boardwalk area. In their indoor cafeteria-like building they sell them at the counter, and probably the cheapest meal you will find. :)

It's definitely acceptable to bring whatever you want. I do this with my granddaughter and have never been questioned. If they allow it into the park, it seems they will allow it into the restaurants. You will LOVE the lobster nachos!

We brought in a corn dog and cotton candy for our kiddos. I'd think they'd be ok with most outside food so long as the majority of your party is purchasing food/drinks there.

Had the lobster nachos for the first time in July and they are delish! I agree that bringing in something for your son is a-okay. I was with my 7 and 9 year old daughters and we were a little hard pressed to find something for them (and they're not overly picky). We managed with a few requests and all were happy. Look forward to another visit!

I can hardly wait to dive into those nachos! And maybe wash it down with a mai tai or fancy ale.
Thanks everyone!

If you are adventurous ask for a Mickey's Fun Wheel. It's not on the menu it's part of the secret menu and it has so much alcohol but it's amazing.

I don't think you'll have any issues with this in any Disney restaurant. It'd be a different story if you were taking up a table and everyone was bringing in their own brought-in food and not buying anything, but of course that isn't the case for you. They're very accommodating to people with disabilities.

That's kind of why I asked.
When I was 15 and working my first real job at a Pizza Hut, two ladies came in, ordered food and were then joined by a third lady carrying a bag from Wendy's.
The manager went off on this lady and claimed it was against health code rules and other stuff that sounded like nonsense. He was a rude jerk but it made me wonder about the etiquette of doing such a thing. I think it would be totally wrong in a nice establishment but figured that Disney, while nice, is a very different situation.
