I know that if you stay there you can get e-night tickets.

When EE was still around, could you go if you were staying there?

I know that the parking if free at the hotel but did you have to pay at the parks for parking?

It seems that $20.02 a night is a steal if it includes parking at the parks...

Anyone know?

Thanks in advance for any info...:)

Staying at a DD hotel does not include parking at the theme parks.

And if you haven't booked the $20 rate, you'd better call ASAP. People (including myself) are being told by the hotel that that rate is sold out for most of the nights that it is offered. They are offering a rate of $69 in its place if it is sold ou during your stay.

I'm just thinking ahead to next year and I want to see what the advantages are before we go...

Thanks

Just a thought, but they may not make a comparable offer next year, so have an alternative plan just in case!! :D

Was EE available to guests of DD hotels???

Yes, EE (when it was offerred) and E-nights were/are available to DD hotel guests.

Dd hotels do NOT get the character caravan in place of ee.

Hey there - I stayed there in August 2001 for the 20.01 deal and thought it was a steal. A suggestion - become a member of the Marriott rewards program (it's free and you can do it online I believe). There was a separate check-in desk for members and we got upgraded to a high floor with a Downtown Disney view. We could check out the fireworks every night. Very cool. It's worth the time of becoming a member IMO. Obviously no guarantee that they'll upgrade but I'm sure the reason we got an upgrade was b/c of membership (we did ask for a high room upon check-in). Anyway, comments on the hotel - it is not glamorous but it was tidy, convenient and the staff was very friendly. The guy that checked us in was very chatty and helpful. He really liked his job. I was very pleased for 20 bux a night!! By the way, if you walk to DD - check out the weird turtles in the pond on the way. I think they are soft-shelled or something!! Have fun.

Thanks Guys,

This is exactly what I was looking for...

Now I just have to wait till next year to go:rolleyes:

I got 3 night in August at the $20 rate.
First of all how bad is the weather inFlorida in August? Can you tolerate the parks in the afternoon or should I run for the pool?

Also, how is the pool at the Marriott?

Flying in w/ two DS. Is it worth it to rent a car? I have to consider transportation to and from the airport, as well as the possibility of going to Universal.
Should I use the hotel transportation or got the marketplace and use Disney transport?
Thank you for any input.

Prepare yourself for hot. Pool breaks during the day are a really good idea but you may find that the Courtyard isn't convenient enough for that . . . depends on your schedule. If you can't manage it, try to experience lots of air-conditioned attractions. We only took one pool break the four day period we were there - it wasn't unbearably hot during the day but we are from the south. We didn't have a rental car and were fine with it - there is a bus that picked us up to go to the parks and the service was fine with us. We usually take it slow though so if you are wanting to really blow it out, a car might be useful. Sometimes we also walked to DD and picked up the Disney buses. The pool at the Marriott was a little crowded but sufficient for us - clean and tidy. I'm not positive but I think there is also a hot tub. For the money, I was very satisfied . . . the people there were very friendly. By the way, if you want to go to Universal - check with the hotel to see if they have a bus that goes there. Otherwise a car might be a necessity. As far as airport transportation - because there are three of you, you might want to consider hiring a towncar to drive you to and from the hotel - it might make more financial sense than, say, Mears for example and it certainly is nicer. Wow - sorry so long. Have a fun trip!
