Just scored an awesome rate of $65 per night for the Courtyard Anaheim for October 2011. I know that it's not within walking distance, but for this price I am willing to consider it. I would love to hear some reviews from folks that have stayed there. Do they offer free breakfast for Marriott Golds or Plats? What about room upgrades? Thanks!

My mom is a Platinum Marriott Rewards member, and we stay in Courtyards quite frequently. Never gotten a free breakfast for being Platinum (though we've never stayed at the Anaheim one - we usually do FF or RI or Suites there). I think free breakfast for Platinum only comes with Concierge levels, which are only at Marriotts/J.W.'s/Renaissances. And of course at many RIs, SSs, TPS, and some FF they are included for everybody. Congrats on the awesome rate! Generally I don't see them go below $89 or so! And that's usually in non-metro areas. Crazy.

Thanks for the info, taaren!

That's a great rate!!! I knew you were waiting for a good deal to come up, and I'm glad you found one at a price you were happy with. My friend stayed there once during a conference and enjoyed it. The Tripadvisor reviews are very decent too. The only thing I don't like is the hotel does have a daily parking charge, but most hotels along S. Harbor do these days. :sad2:

Great rate, we're staying over the New Years and got the $89 rate. The only thing I can add is that it might be quicker to walk to the Toy Story parking lot than to the Marriott next door to catch a shuttle. Courtyard does not have a ART Stop you have to go to the Marriott next door to catch it.

Can you catch a shuttle at the Toy Story parking lot even if you're not parking there? Do you still have to pay to park if you just want to ride the shuttle? I think $89 is a great rate over New Year's. Have a great trip and let me know how you like the hotel. I'm especially interested in the pool.

The info I've gotten from another thread is you can walk into the parking lot.

Update us all on your stay at the hotel when you get back and, if you try it, let us know how the Toy Story shuttle works out.

Happy New Year! Hope you had a fabulous holiday trip! How was the hotel? Were you able to ride the trams from the Toy Story parking lot? Let us know when you get a free minute.

Wow, how did you find that rate? Did you get it from their website, or some consolidator? I just plugged in our dates for mid-November, and got AAA rates of $143 per night! I'd love to find a rate like yours, or even the $89 that other posters are quoting. Help?

Aaa rates not always cheapest. Courtyards as a chain, being a business oriented hotel, have high rates during the week and cheap rates on the weekend. And if there's a convention, forget about low rates altogether. Was so sad to discover all the marriotts in vancouver were sold out for the two nights before my first disney cruise.

Marriott properties will match and even beat a lower rate if you find it offered by another vendor. You have to be vigilant and keep your eyes open but great rates are a possiblity.

Just got back from a great trip. We ended up using the toy story parking but drove. We had a free AAA parking pass and my dad has a hard time walking so we decided to cut out anything we could. You can walk into the parking lot. I'd say it is a 1/2 a city block to the crosswalk and then you cross the street and another whole city block to the shuttle. It is in the back of the parking lot. Some of our clan walked to the park, and it was a 20 min. Others walked over to the Marriott, a little walk out the back, and caught the ART shuttle. We did have a problem with a big line one morning (of course it was New Years) and they deciede to walk instead of waiting for a couple more shuttles.

I'm a a Marriott member but I think my rate was a AAA rate that popped up one of the dozen times I was checking on rate. I liked the Hotel for $89.00 but we ended up with no parking one night and our key cards not working. But the it was New Years and the front desk was quick to find us parking and fix any problem.

I will stay closer next time but having four rooms and everyone on a budget this was a nice choice. One of my biggest concerns is a clean room and they where fine.

Thanks for the update, mitchwebb! Did anyone in your party use the pool or sauna? If so, was the pool heated?

We didn't use the pool but there were people swimming a couple of the days so it has to be heated. It was really cold out and I can't imagine anyone swimming if it was not heated.
