I always buy a couple and get my family's papers but i was wondering how people get the inserts in bulk. This week there are some coupons I would love to have in bulk. Any tips of stores that might let me have the extras at the end of the day or other places to get them?

Sometimes I buy the coupons from

any other good sources to buy specific coupons (besides ebay - I find I don't save enough to make that worth it!)

I'll buy from ebay, buy from a clipper, trade on various trading site, buy extra papers.

Some ppl go through the recycling bins. Other people ask their delivery person for the extras, other ppl have hook ups at stores to get the leftover inserts late Sunday night.

It never hurts to ask.

Also how much are you paying on Ebay for coupons?

I'm paying no more than .10/cpn for ones that get things free. Like I paid $10 for 100 $3/2 HE coupons. That will get me 200 bottles of HE for free this week at Kroger. That's enough savings for me! ;)

Twice a month several ladies at work bring in their extra inserts. We all have a chance to go through them and clip the extras. It works out great to get the duplicate coupons you need.

Dh bought me three papers today, and I have not started clipping them yet. I am really thinking that I will just buy my coupons from now on, what do you guys think? Is buying the paper really needed anymore if one can get coupons from different sources.

I'd buy a paper because it's always good to have a base of coupons and know what was in which insert. If you can't trade for the coupons and are always buying them, you might find you've spent more than the papers would have cost. Our papers are $1 so I got 20 this week since I promised someone the electrasol coupon. I managed to trade out for 5 other big trades just from this week's paper. Plus I have a ton of good coupons in there that will make things free. So the balance of the $20 I spent to the amount of freebies is excellent. That's this week. Other weeks I just get 1 or 2 papers because the coupons aren't very good. If I'm going to have to buy the better cpn values there is no sense in buying a bunch of my papers.

What is HE?

I go the newspaper office on Monday and ask if they have any inserts left from Sunday's paper. If they do, they always just give me some. Of course, I live in a fairly small town. Someone in a bigger town should try that and report if all newspapers will give them out. :confused3

I tried asking at our local corner convenience store and was told they never have any left, which I doubt, Ithink I may take atrip tonite !!

I used to have a part time job in a chain pharmacy, and worked closing shift Sunday nights. Last thing I would do before locking up is haul any remaining papers to the stockroom, and cull the coupon inserts.

I do this every so often. Stop buying papers and start buying coupons online. I only have a one year old and DH. I don't buy a lot of products that coupons are for. It works out better for me to buy the coupons I do use online sometimes. I usually buy deoderant coupons, OJ, Milk, shampoo and soap coupons. We don't eat much processed or anything like that so those are pointless for me.

You really aren't going to buy 200 bottles are you? Do you take one trip or how many do you get in one trip? Where do you store that much shampoo???

Yes I am getting 200 bottles. I've already gotten 20 in one trip. I'll buy as much as possible at my 2 closest stores in 1 single trip and then go to other stores. I've got 5 or 6 really close to me.
I resell the shampoo so I'll pick which ones I want to use for us and sell the rest. Herbal Essence sells really fast since I sell it for $1.50/bottle.

I just spent $10 today on coupons that I know I will use with a great sale and a few were rebates. I'm going to save about $120 on the stuff I'm getting with them (pretty much all of it is free and just paying tax). I do usually buy 1-2 papers a day and then just get doubles of the really great items that I use and can get for free. I buy some on ebay and I also trade on a couple of coupon sites. :)

How do you know when there is going to be a really great coupon insert? Do you go buy the paper on Sunday, go through it and then go back for more papers?

Not sure how this works... :confused3

Doesnt Kroger wonder when you buy 200 bottles of shampoo? How does that work?

There are places that will post previews. TaylorTown is one place that shows the preview but so does Refund Cents if you are on their forums (you have to pay for that one). I also go to Hot Coupon World to preview the CVS, WG, and RA fliers.

If they limited it to 8. She would be able to get 8 each time she went through the register. What's the difference really?

Also try www.couponmom.com. They have a coupon organizer that has grocery stores adds and coupons by state. They also have national chains like CVS, walmart, wlagreens, Target, etc. They are my favorite coupon source!
