If so, what was it? And if you didn't need it, what did you do with it?

I once bought about a dozen large bottles of Dulcolax b/c each bottle was a $4 MM at Walgreen's. I ended up donating them to a local nursing home. No one needs that much laxitive! :rotfl2:

The reason that I'm asking this is b/c there is a Nestle brand MM at Shoprite this week that has the potential to be a MM to the tune of $9+. But I don't want 6 boxes of their Drumstick ice cream cones in my house! I'm thinking of doing the deal and just giving the ice cream to the neighbors with young kids.

So, what's your dirty little couponing MM secret?

I'm not in the US, so I haven't done it for an "MM" (I don't actually know what that is), but I did buy an apple pie last night which I won't be eating.

I wanted to buy ice cream and they had a special "Buy a pie, get a free ice cream". The pie was cheaper than the ice cream, so I bought the pie (and got the free ice cream). I'm gluten intolerant so I cannot eat the pie - but my co-workers are enjoying it.

MM = Money Maker

I would have probably done the same thing for the pie and ice cream. But I would have kept the pie and given away the ice cream!

MM??

Mega Master?
Manufacturer's Mistake?
Mild Mannered?
Mister Mustard?
Mega Megadeal?

ETA - answered - Money Maker. I've done that in the past but I have a small house and I'm starting to clutter myself on out of it! :) My mom is a master at the MM deals.

honestly, I don't do them unless I'm going to actually USE the product or donate it. I've only actually done one recently for Pedigree dog food. We don't use it, but it's the brand that our local shelter uses. So we bought 4 bags and took it right to the shelter. I actually didn't make money off it though....the money we were going to make w/ the coupon overage, we put towards more of the dog food for the shelter.

Other than that, I don't have the time to figure out where I can "make money" from couponing... i'm just trying to save as much as I can on the products that we use. (and create a mini-stockpile). :thumbsup2

Can you tell more about this deal at ShopRite? There is a ShopRite near me, and my kids love the Drumstick cones

Shoprite has two Catalina deals that are overlapping right now. The first is 4 $5 OYNO Catalinas WYB $20 in Nestle Brand products. The other is a $4 OYNO Catalina WYB $12 in ice cream.

The 4 ct. Nestle Drumsticks are on sale for $2.18. A 14 oz cup of Hagen Daz is $2.99 and Lean Cuisine meals are $2.86 each.
  • Buy 6 Drumsticks and use 3 $1/2 coupons from the 5/1 SS
  • Buy 1 Hagen Daz and use the $1/1 coupon from the April All You magazine
  • Buy 3 Lean Cuisine and use the $1/3 coupon from April All You magazine
  • Spend $14.13 OOP. Get a $4 ice cream Catalina and $20 in Nestle Catalinas. That basically pays for the ice creams and Lean Cuisines plus gives you an additional $9.87!

I got this deal thanks to livingrichwithcoupons.com! :)

If it's something I'm not going to get much use out of, I'll buy one or two if it's a MM. I'm not, however, going to stock up "just because." It's a couponing pet peeve of mine to clear a shelf just b/c something's free. If you can and will use something, go for it. To buy them just to buy them takes the deal away from others who have a need for it. JMO--I know it's not a popular one.;)

i have done it....tho, frankly, i'm surprised any nursing home would accept the donation--i am unaware that just anyone can donate otc meds.

For all that I know, they may very well have thanked me for my donation and then chucked them in the trash. I called to ask them if they would take them and a bunch of other CVS/Walgreen's stuff that I had picked up by couponing and rolling my ECBs and Catalinas. They may have simply accepted the "bad" with the "good".

I totally agree with this! I am willing to bet they threw it out.

I will and do. I was determined to win the box tops competition for my 3 kids' separate classrooms. I bought more than 350 boxes of Hamburger Helper and with coupons from eBay were a MM. I clipped the box tops and donated the HH to the local food pantry, who was more than happy to take them!
