Huh?!?You mean you don't want this miserable weather?! Right now we would give our eye teeth for 20 degrees. It's been below zero a lot, but I think the high today is supposed to be about 6 or 8 degrees. A real warm up!
Yesterday we got more snow so I'm not sure that old saying about "It's too cold to snow" holds true. It was downright nasty trying to drive to a friend's house yesterday but we are supposed "to know how to drive in these conditions" seeing as how we have winter about six months out of the year.
Anyway, I pulled the shortdated coupons from the two envies and will mail those today. I'll put the others with longer expirations in Monday's envie with the new coupons from Sunday's paper. Sure hope the one I mailed to you on Monday arrives today. I suppose this bad weather is slowing all the mail delivery to a's pace at best.
Stay warm and enjoy your long weekend. Will you have to make up these days in the summer?![]()
Last night we were 4 degrees. For us that might as well be -40 because our typical lows in the winter are 20-30s. As for driving in this, I was taught to drive in snow and ice by granddad who was a native New Yorker and could drive anything on a solid sheet of ice like it was a normal event. I do OK with the ice BUT everyone else around here goes CRAZY (even a big rain storm and they have no idea how to compensate).
I think the mail is still a little bogged down from Christmas and they are still recovering.
As for school we have 5 snow days built into our schedule. We are schedule 5 days more than we are required by the state to attend. That way if we miss 5 days for snow, we don't have to make it up. We have 2 more teacher inservice days that can be turned into instruction days for the students, so they do not have to come into the summer. Teachers will go two extra days but the students will not. After 7 days out they start tacking them onto the end of the year. We maybe get 1 or 2 a year off, so it has been years since we actually had to make anything up.
The general plan for today is scrapbook, make soup, work a puzzle, and maybe watch a movie. OH the harshness of a SNOW DAY!
