Couples w/o children

Congratulations Nghtangl01! I read something awhile ago that I thought was very cool. You may think this is corny, but since you asked I will share. You and your hubby write letters to yourself in the future. The idea is that at some point in the future the odds are that you two will have a serious fight. On your wedding cruise you both take the time to write to your "future" self in the middle of that future "fight". Give advice on what to do for your future self. Since you both know yourselves fairly well, counsel your future self. Here is an example:
"Hello stubborn! I know you are hurt and angry right now. Stop a second and take a deep breath. Now remember back to the moment you wrote this letter. "God how much I love this woman!" Now remember why you said those words. Have you asked yourself why SHE is hurt/angry? Before you start feeling sorry for yourself and reflecting on your hurt, answer that question! Now -- take another deep breath -- go and talk to her! BUT follow these rules: first tell her "Even though I am hurt and angry I love you everything!" Say how you feel not what she did to hurt you! "I got hurt when I heard you say this. NOT you hurt me when you said this..." One is an attack the other is an appeal for help and love.
______ I think you get the picture here.
Both of you seal your letters in the same envelope and seal them with candle wax (it would be great if the candle came from the one you both lit at your wedding!)
I think the article called this "love" insurance!
Regardless -- I hope you have a truly awesome time!
