Couples Cabana massage on CC or in Vista Spa on ship?

My future DH and I plan to splurge on a couple's massage for our honeymoon cruise. Should we do it on board on a sea day, or is the cabana massage on CC worth the splurge? I'm also worried that we will just want to lay on the beach, snorkel, ect while on CC. Thoughts?

Don't know yet, but we are planning on trying to book the CC Couples Cabana in less than 2 weeks! I will give you a review when I return in April.

We did the couples massage on a day at sea. It was very relaxing and a short walk back to the room for a nap!

I don't think I would like to get it done at Castaway Cay. What if the weather is really hot. I would hate someone massaging me with oil in the heat.

Just my opinion! They are great by the way!

We did the Couples Cabana Massage & Mini Facial and really liked it. Just listening to the ocean while being pampered was amazing.

BUT, I know that we will probably not do this again because it was definitely pricey -- I think it's less expensive to do this at Vista Spa. --> but glad we did it once.

Have you looked into the Romance Escape at Sea package? I wish I knew about this for our honeymoon...we would have definitely done it and plan on booking it for our next cruise. Read about it at: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=506211

Personally I would do it on the ship for two reasons:
1) I would hate to waste any precious island time if the weather is nice, and if it's icky, you'll still have to go all the way to the adult beach to get your massage.
2) Once when I sailed there was a large group from an investment company on board. There were a bunch of them sitting near the front of the massage cabanas, swigging booze and getting really loud and obnoxious. Instead of listening to the ocean, I listened to stories of how to hose small investors so you can take care of the big ones. That's the only time that's every happened to me, but it really spoiled the ambiance.
But if you really have your heart set and having the massage done on the island, odds are that it will be a really enjoyable experience.

OH MY! :earseek: That's terrible, Barb!

We chose the first massage of that morning, so there was barely anyone at Serenity Bay by that time. I could see how this could happen later in the afternoon.

I usually do the massage first appointment too. You're right...it's soooo peaceful! It was the second appointment of the morning on that trip, but the partiers were up early. I'm surprised they were...we ran into them constantly throughout the cruise, always consuming mass quantities of alcohol and always discussing stuff loudly that I didn't think they should be talking about in public (i.e. naming specific clients and money amounts), so I'm surprised they didn't have whanging hangovers. We sat in the hot tub one afternoon and spent the whole time hearing one inebriated guy go into details about how he blows off certain clients so he can spend time with the ones he thinks are important...he thought it was hilarious that the ones he doesn't really do anything for don't even know it! You can bet I would NEVER use that investment firm.
