with 3 members of my family already members I should already know this, but I dont and I currently cant get in touch with any of them..and sadly I cant contact DVC today since its sunday...so


Decided its probably time for me to join in and so

1. Anyone know the current price for points for a new member?
2. Is there a minimum number of points you need to buy?


now do I understand correctly that the # of points for a room doesnt change? Meaning that the # of points for a week in say october will always be the same, 1 , 5, 10 years down the road?

ssr is (or was as of last week) $101 a point with an $8.00 incentive so $93 a point.
for a new member buying direct you must start with 150 or more.

you can buy resale the other resorts, possibly at a savings

you can also get them for $88 per point, with points availabilty starting in Dec 2006 but it is a limited time/restricted offer.

Not completely true. The total number of points for a year will not change for a unit (that's a group of rooms not a single room) and it's unlikely any changes for a week would be significant. The only caution is not to cut it too close, esp. if looking at smaller units for off time.
