The I-Trolley does not take u to Unicersal when u get off u have about 15mi to 20 min walk, sorry cant help with off site hotel although there are quit a few on I-Drive so long as you are close to WnW u are prety close to Universal as thats where u would get off the I-Trolley
The I-Ride Trolley does not have a stop directly at Universal, only in the general vicinity. It would be at least a 20 minute walk from the closest trolley stop. Stop #5 on the Red Line would be about the closest. It's near the intersection of Major Blvd. and Kirkman. You are looking right at Universal across the street from here but to walk to the hub would be at least 15-20 minutes. Here is a link to the I-Ride Trolley map:
Accomodations at or near the northernmost stops on the Red Line (1,2,3,4a,4b & 5) would all be in the general vicinity of Universal. Many have shuttle service available to and from the parks. Personally, we have stayed at the AmeriSuites Universal (stop 4a) and the Fairfield Inn Universal (stop 2) in this area and could recommend either. We also stayed at the Quality Suites on Windhover Drive (stop 1) and would not recommend that one.
Hope this info helps you out. Just ask if you have any other questions.
Thank-you very much for the help!!!! We were lucky enough to stay onsite our last trip, but unfortunately the budget will not allow it this time. Even the Entertainment Rates have gone up too much for me to justify the added expense when we are in the parks all day and just in the room to sleep. I appreciate the hotel suggestions!!!!!! and too bad about the Trolley--thanks for the shuttle info!!!!
Thanks
Flo
A couple of years ago, we stayed at a Ramada on Major Blvd. Major is right accross from one of the the US/IOA parking entrances. It was very convienient and very reasonable. Nothing fancy, just a clean place to sleep.
