couple of POP questions

I will be traveling alone with DD4 and just wondering how you move your luggage when the Magical Express drops you off at check in? Are there luggage carts that you can take to your rooms, or anyone to help you? I was all excited about a few days at Pop until it dawned on me that it would be a long walk lugging carry ons, luggage and my tree hugging child! Second question is, are there towels by the pool or do I pack my own? Thanks for the help

it drops you off at the luggage area!

with DME it takes your luggage - so you only have to worth about the carry on (so make it as small as possible)

there are no towels by the pool - you bring the ones in the room - and call housekeeping if you need more.

Spiceycat is right - one of the best features of Magical Express is the luggage handling.

Attach the yellow tags you'll get in your Magical Express packet.

Check your luggage at your home airport.

It will MAGICALLY appear in your Disney resort room several hours after you check in at your resort.

All you'll need to manuever are you carry-ons (kept to a minimum, I'd think, given that it's just you doing the carrying) and your child. And a rollaboard suitcase or backpack would make a great choice as a carry-on bag.

ME is very helpful with luggage - they pick up your luggage for you so you don't even have to go through baggage claim and then they will bring it to your resort and they will in turn bring it right to your room. Any carry on bags you will have and they kindly place it in the luggage hold under the bus and will take it off for you when you get to your resort.

Not too sure about towels near the pool, but I think you have to bring them from your room.

aha, too cool. So you would just want to pack what you need before going out to the parks or pool and when you check in later, your bags are there waiting? Sounds fantastic! What happens if you check in after three? Do you still have to wait hours for your bag if your room is ready? Thanks a bunch for the replies...I can breathe a sigh of relief

the bags have to been there before they can be delivered to your room.

only sometimes do you wait hours. mind came in about 2 hours - not long at all. got a room ready. check in at 11 am.

You are supposed to bring them from your room. There is a cart across from the elevators on the first floor with towels. That makes them convenient on the way to the pools, but I don't endorse that kind of behavior and ALWAYS follow the rules myself.

Your bags will have to make it from the airport to your resort on a separate bus and then once at the resort, they will be delivered to your room as assigned.

If you check in and your room isn't ready so you can't get the towels from your room for the pool, just ask at the front desk for some.

I think you'll find that Magical Express is, well, Magical.

Slight correction to the above post - DME users' luggage won't be on a separate bus; it won't be on ANY bus. All tagged (or untagged but CM-claimed) luggage is sorted by resort in a facility at the airport, then sent by GPS-tracked truck to the resorts.

Just a heads up. Our luggage was brought to our room about 5 hours after our arrival when DH called the desk inquiring as to it's whereabouts. He was told that it had been sitting there for an hour and a half. DS was trying desperately to stay awake because the only contact lens solution we had brought was in one of those bags. Yes, not too bright on our part. The Disney literature we had stated that bags should arrive at your room between 3 to 5 hours after arrival.
