Hi all - only stayed one night in OKW so far, will be there in Feb and Sept/Oct this year (yay!) and need some help with bus and boat questions. We will have a car, but I'd love some info on how the bus to MK runs as far as ease of use, wait time, etc. Specifically, can we be sure of an early AM bus to take us to MK for an 8AM PS when the park doesn't open til 9AM. Also - how bad is the crush after Fri night fireworks at MK? And what about the boat to DTD - where do you get it and how easy is it to use re: wait times, frequency, etc. We'll be there the weekend after President's in Feb and late Sep into Oct, travelling with DDs 3 and 5. Thanks in advance!:)

Better use the car for an 8AM PS. The buses usually start about an hour before the parks open, so an 8AM may be tough to make. Check with Bell Services to be sure.

The boat to DD starts running in the afternoon until 9:20PM- weather permitting. You can catch it at the OKW marina in fromt of Olivia's. It does have a limited seating capacity (10, I think) and sometimes fills up quickly. The boat runs every 20 minutes from each end.

Have a great trip!

Our family alway tries to do something different each time we go to WDW. The shuttle boat to Downtown Disney was one of the unexpected surprises for us. It's not quicker (take the car instead). It's not always more comfortable (take the bus instead).

Pick a nice warm evening when you're not in a rush. The boat ride is very scenic, peaceful, and very different from a bus ride. Our "captain" pointed out many of the various animal species we saw as we cruised along. We sang a Disney song, and even had time for "Q&A" about upcoming events at WDW. The "captain" was very knowledgeable and friendly.

Enjoy!

Thanks everyone - I knew y'all could help me out! I guess we will drive over to TTC for our early Cindy's breakfast - I just really wanted to avoid that extra time needed for the monorail over. Oh well! Thanks again!

When we were there this week there was a separate "Character Breakfast" bus that was running through the resort earlier than many of the park buses. I believe it was for those early PS's. The bus service this past week was truly great. We had little or no problem with bus transportation to anywhere we went and only had one wait for a bus that was longer than about 5 minutes.
