Couple of Flounder's questions.....

I have found out from reading this board that once aboard you can make ressies for up to 3 different times for your child. My first question is--How long can you leave your child in Flounder's at one time? Do they limit you to 2-3 hrs?
My 2nd question--Are you able to make ressies on port days? DH and I are on a 3 night in April and aren't going to go to Naussa, just going to stay on board and enjoy the ship. It would be nice to do some "adult" stuff w/o DD that day. Any experience here?

We found that Flounder's was "typically" open from 10am - 2pm and then from something like 6pm to midnight or 1am. You can leave you child there for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time. For the couple of mornings we used, we dropped off right when they opened and picked up around 12:30, fed DS (who was 20 months at the time) lunch, and then took him for a nap. They ARE open on port days (and they time the opening more to the excursions) and you can work in some time in port if you want - although the beeper obviously won't work.

We got our top 3 choices of times, and then once we were underway and they had their full list, Tracy (I think that was her name) took down ALL of our additional "requested" times and would call us day-by-day to let us know whether they had room. All in all I think DS was there 6 times on a 7 night, so we had at least one morning or evening each day without toddler chasing. On the days we picked evening, he got pool time with us in the morning, or beach time in ports. They would put him down in a crib in a dark area at whatever time we indicated upon check-in and he was always out cold. When we chose morning Flounders time, we had "adult pool" time and then enjoyed having him with us in the dining rooms that evening. Worked out great for us, and at $6/hr, you can't beat it. He latched on to one girl in particular who worked there who he really adored!
