Couple NEWBIE questions...Can you buy extra POINTS?

TSS says you can buy as little as 25 points (I don;t think I would buy in as few as THAT nmber). Could you BUY 25 points to be a member abd then purchase extra points as your needs change?
Do you go thru closing every time you buy more points?

ALSO, is there any kind of break if you pay cash for your DVC purchase?

Hi there,

The minimum purchase if you buy direct from Disney if 160 points. But on resales, as little as 25 points will get you in the door and you will be an owner. After that, a minimum of 100 points are needed for add ons if bought directly from Disney, or you can add on as little as you want if you find a good contract on resale.

No cash discounts that I know of. Disney has promotions running almost all the time. Right now, it is $5 off $112 for BLT and soon GCV.

Closing costs are steep in resales (they often add $5 or more per point on) and you have to pass ROFR on them. With Disney, I believe you only pay closing costs on the initial 160 point purchase although that may have changed recently. Others will chime in.

I thought the 100 point minimum was only for BLT and that the minimum add on at the other resorts was still 25 points.

No, you have it correct. 100 pt add-on minimum is only at BLT. Others are still 25.
