I am thinking of booking this hotel through Travelzoo for this weekend, as they have a really good special, BUT I just read a post from another Dis'er (on the Comfort Inn LBV thread) that this might not be all it sounds.

So I am after opinions please. Thanks!

You're probably referring to my post. I am a skeptic and never reserve hotels through third party websites. So I called the number listed through travelzoo and they told me they worked at the hotel. I really don't know if they did or didn't, but when my reservation showed up online, it was at the "Sweet Deal" rate I could have booked online through Country Inn & Suites with a notation in the request to try to get as close to the $49 travelzoo rate as possible. Maybe I would have gotten the $49 rate when I got there, or maybe they would have charged me the $84 to $89 rate that was listed on the reservation. I wasn't willing to take a chance when I have a different hotel reserved that I am pretty happy with. Maybe if you book through the third party site linked from travelzoo you won't have a problem. I've never used or heard of them, so I just wasn't comfortable with it. Or maybe call the hotel direct through the long distance number listed on the CI&S website and ask them.

Like I said in the other post, the hotel is very nice. I have stayed there before and was happy with it.

I hope you didn't mind me posting, or kind of quoting you, I just wantetd to see if I would get any other answers in a seperate thread.

Thanks for your input, I'm still thinking about it.

I stayed here a year ago and had a great stay - clean rooms, comfortable beds and great location. I'm going to book here for my 3-night stay in August as soon as I finish posting!! Been waiting and hoping that a great rate for here would show up on travelzoo!! :goodvibes

We have stayed there 4 times. Last time was Nov 08. It is a nice hotel and clean, plenty of restaurants within walking distance. There is a fridge and microwave in the room and a free breakfast. We would stay there again.

I went ahead and made the reservation online. That way I did receive a confirmation email with the $49 rate. It also states that the cancellation policy is 6 pm day of arrival which is CI&S standard policy. I checked the CI&S website and the new reservation showed the rate as $99 with a note again under special requests stating the $49 rate. So I sent an email to the hotel manager through the CI&S website and he told me the $49 rate is legitimate and that is what I will pay, not the $99 showed on the CI&S reservation.

I hope this helps.

Thanks for posting. I think I will chance it and make a booking.

I was looking at this hotel also. My question has to do with the "kid's suites". I've stayed at other hotels with kid's suites which were basically a plywood box in the same room. We really like Country Inn & Suites because we usually put our kids in the living room area on the hide-a-bed area which gives us the privacy of a separate bedroom. I'm wondering if anybody knows if the kid's suite takes the place of the living room area or is more like the other hotels where it's all in one bedroom. I think the kids would like bunk beds, but I'm not willing to give up being able to stay up later and having some alone time.

We stayed here last August for 17 nights cost $40/night incl tax. Great budget hotel, much better than CI LBV IMO, we didn't like there at all.
Going back again this Thursday for 9 nights costing $44/night incl tax.
Used www.great4hotels.com uk company but I believe you can use from US, code D446B gives you £25($39) off any booking over £60($93)

This is a great site and I saw that the rate was 69 UK . How much is that US? Was this hotel located near Palm Parkway? We've stayed at the Courtyard there before. Is it near there? Thanks.:)

The exchange rate from £UK1 is $US1.55 so £69 is $107. I have never converted from UK to US before we only need to do it the other way, maybe check with your credit card what rate you would get.
We have also stayed at Courtyard Palm Parkway twice, Country Inn is other side of the lake, behind Sheraton Safari hotel.

Not sure if this map works but will try.
