Counting Our Nuts Like Chip & Dale, a Financially Aware PTR *Update 4/17 Pg 62 *

I would love to do a quick spur of the moment weekend trip too sometime. It's something on my bucket list. I'm hoping on upgrading our tickets to AP's on our trip and hoping to do an April trip with the baby, but my husband doesn't know about this yet.

As for my favorite land, it has to be Frontierland. I just love Splash and I think that's why. I didn't include a picture because I didn't have a really good one.

Since booking January 2012, I have this desire, no that's not quite right. It's more like this unexplainable urge to go for a quick solo weekend trip in September.

Ahhh, Disney. The addiction for which there is no cure.

What is your favorite land in Magic Kingdom? Show me your favorite picture!

I don't have any pictures just now but this is two-fold:

During the day: Adventureland
At night: Tomorrowland

I'd have to go with Adventure Land.

I SO hear you about trip planning. I'm dying here!

Hey LL,

You will love the AKL...I can actually recall the scent of it (really good) if I close my eyes...:cloud9: You really do have to hang out by the firepits and hear the storytellers...

I'm so glad to hear you're going back...I plan to get a few days in next spring...we're planning a Fla road trip vaca...but I need to finish planning our couple of days at DL at the end of our California trip next month...:goodvibes

Ah ...Concord...anyone remotely into American History needs to go there...I agree Orchard house does remind of the movie...

I could go for a good lobster roll right about now...:rolleyes1

Reading along...:surfweb:

I totally see the dilemma on this one! Based on rides, I'd probably say Tomorrowland, but, I'll go with Adventureland on the theming..I love the key west style houses and the jungle feel...reminds me of the Poly! :goodvibes

I'm going to have to choose Adventureland! One of my favorite places in Disney is walking over the bridge to Adventureland from Main Street, dancing to that music!:banana::banana:

Here is unfortunately the best pic I have from there...not very good at all!

(By the way, I LOVE your idea of the 30 day park challenge in your PTR! Do you mind if I use it in mine?)

Oh Sep is such a great time to go. We really loved our trip last year and are looking forward to our next one in less than 2 months. The decorations, the weather the crowds....SO SORRY I AM NOT HELPING!!!

Fav land hmmmm I also love the look of Liberty Square.

I have never really done a quick spur of the moment trip to Disney but I sure would like too. I'd really like to get away for a few days, pretend I have no responsibilities. :lmao:

Marc debated between Adventureland and Frontierland as his favorites but he ultimately went with Adventureland because he likes the music better.

Ahhh, Disney. The addiction for which there is no cure.

The only cure I have found is completely avoiding the DIS which I don't really like!!

I have to admit, I really love Tomorrowland at night as well, especially when you are riding the peoplemover.

I'd have to go with Adventure Land.

I SO hear you about trip planning. I'm dying here!
I really wish I could convince Marc. I might have to work on it some more. Part of me feel guilty though.

Patricia!! It is so nice to see you on the DIS again. Are we going to be seeing you around here more ??!! :yay:

I can't wait to be at AKL. It will be so amazing I am sure.

Come on up and visit!! We can go out for lobster rolls!!

I totally see the dilemma on this one! Based on rides, I'd probably say Tomorrowland, but, I'll go with Adventureland on the theming..I love the key west style houses and the jungle feel...reminds me of the Poly! :goodvibes
You are right, Adventureland gives me the same kind of vibe as the Poly. I think Adventureland might be my second favorite land. Though with the new fantasyland expansion coming soon, we might all change our answers.

I agree, I love walking over that bridge as well, you are instantly transported. I also love how the theming by Crystal Palace slowly gets more lush as you walk towards Adventureland.

Go right ahead! Do you want the whole list that I am using? I can message it to you if you want. :thumbsup2

I really love September for the fall decorations. I also love it because it's my birthday month and it seems extra special to be there during that month.

I know what you mean about January seeming so far away! I feel that way about next summer and keep trying to make a trip before that work. No dice though. :(

You know me -- I have to go with Marc on Adventureland! While you could live in Liberty Square, I could definitely live in Adventureland. Without. A. Doubt. :goodvibes

That's it Jackie! We should just plan a trip together...to save on costs of course. :rotfl2::rotfl: I've been pricing out airfare all morning for a quickie weekend trip and no dice. It is way too expensive. If I could click my heels three times and magically appear in Disney then I could afford to go.

Adventureland is very you. :thumbsup2

Hmmm. . . I am going to have to be different and say Main Street USA. To me there is nothing like seeing the details of the buildings and staring down the street at the castle. It really just encompasses what Disney is to me.

BTW - I totally get you on the Sept. trip. The responsible part of you says no but the I need a break and life is too short part of you says yes. For us when we were in that dilemma, it came down to how good of a deal we could get. We got one that was really good and went!

Well isn't it lucky for me that my favorite ride happens to reside in my favorite MK land LOL!!!!!!

1158547886_De9Jo-L.jpg

By far my favorite picture of HM that I have!!! LOVE IT!!!! I just love all the details that can be found in Liberty Square! From the howling wolf as you walk closer to HM, the lanterns in the windows, all the way to the leather straps holding up the window shutters since the metal was used to make bullets during the revolutionary war...just WAY too cool!

All caught up!

Love your countdown calendar. I wish I were crafty. You should start an etsy shop or something for those of us non crafty-mc-craftersons who want this kind of stuff but can't do it ourselves. :)

The 30 day challenge concept is a GREAT idea. Sometimes PTRs are tough so this is a great way to keep the energy up.

My favorite park is Epcot, specifically World Showcase. As much as I love MK, it is WS that I could just spend days in. Losing myself in whatever "country" I am visiting, shopping, eating, then eating some more. And Illuminations. I :lovestruc Illuminations.

I'd have to go with the crowd on favorite land in MK being Adventureland. Although (before it was torn down) I might have liked to live in the chalet former skyway headquarters in Fantasyland.

Keep your eye on the airfare. Hopefully you can find a way to get max benefit out of your AP. Doing so would be TOTALLY financially aware. :) I hope it works out for you! There is definitely something about the Disney bug - once it has bitten nothing but a trip, stat!!, will do!

We do not have the Disney version, just the regular one. I adore Apples to Apples, I really want to play now.

:rotfl:

I wasn't happy with the Southest times or prices yesterday. They don't seem to have a non-stop early flight out of the airport we normally fly out of. Not sure what we are going to do. Thinking about our flight just stresses me out right now so I'm ignoring it. :rotfl2:

well there you go...;)

Riddle me this.

What is it about having a Disney trip planned that induces this mania that makes you feel like you should have more than one planned.

:rotfl2: so true my friend so true...that's why I have 4-5 in the works :rolleyes1 LOL it's a little bit of an obession...you know Oct '11 and Jan '12 are off the ground...then another solo trip w/ friends for Oct '12 is in the pre-planning stage, next family trip after Jan will be w/ my parents in the summer of 2013 and I know I want to go down for my 40th in 2014...w/ who and when well that I haven't figure out yet

Let's do Day #2 of the 30 Day WDW Challenge.

Favorite land in Magic Kingdom.

Marc: Adventureland

Me: Liberty Square.

What is your favorite land in Magic Kingdom? Show me your favorite picture!

Great next question...ooh this is a tough one...I had to think a bit

It has to be Main Street...ok I know it's not technically a land like Fantasyland...but for me the Magic starts and continues right here as aI walk down to enter ot to leave...from the smells coming from the bakery, to the horse drawn carriages going down to the castle...seeing the castle getting bigger and bigger as you walk down and feeling more and more immersed into that MAGIC...at night as you leave it's all lit up and full of happy feelings of a great day :goodvibes

here are three of my fav pixs (sorry couldn't pick just one):

I'll have to go with Main Street. I love everything about it.... the look, the smells, the music, the entertainment, the balloons, the castle... :cloud9: Based on rides, I'd have to go with Fantasyland, but for atmosphere, Main Street takes the prize! I especially like it early in the morning when it's empty!

I didn't even think about Main Street. I do enjoy Main Street myself. That is where I most feel Walt.

Flights are just making the cost way too high. I don't think I am going to be able to do it, I think I priced about every airline out today. :lmao:

PTRs are can be tough, especially when you have become a pro at planning the details so quickly. :rotfl2:

I am determined that Marc will see Illuminations this trip!!! He thinks he saw it on his trip as a kid but isn't 100% sure.

I agree with you, I would have lived in that chalet very easily, it was so pretty.

I know how you feel about wanting to squeeze in another trip before your trip in January! I'm trying to convince my DH to a quick 3 night trip in December, just to do the Candlelight processional, but so far, he's saying no. :confused3 I'm also debating a solo trip in January or February, but who knows if that will happen? I'm so afraid of doing a solo trip, although I know it would be fun, I'm so afraid I'd be lonely!

Hmmm...I suppose if I HAD to pick my favorite land in MK, it would be Adventureland! I love how tropical it is, I love the music! But I also really love Tomorrowland, so I guess that would be a close second.

I also LOVE Liberty Square! I love American History, so I always feel so at home there...and then I think about how much of a dork I am for being so interesting in American History! I really should have been a history teacher! :yay:

Ok...I simply cannot choose which land would be my favourite!:confused3 I think Main Street would win but it doesn't technically count as a land. However, it is one of the most breathtaking places in the park and has wonderful music, smells, shops, food and leads into the best view of the castle! It is also where your anticipation of all of the lands begins! So that is one....here a photo from Christmas a few years ago:

101_101.jpg

The next would be Liberty Square. I have always thought it should be bigger so there could be more shops and attractions, but now I am second guessing that. Perhaps there is more charm to it because it's so small? It does house my favourite attraction (Haunted Mansion) too! I also learned a lot of the history aspect to it (sorry, I'm Canadian so I didn't get much American history in school - I had the basics but not the details!) and had the finer details pointed out to me when I took the KTTK tour a couple of years ago and that really brought the area to life for me! For my photo, I choose the Liberty Tree, which I think is amazingly beautiful! Here it is:

Disney2010024.jpg

My final choice would be Tomorrowland. Not as much now anymore, but I remember when I was kid thinking it looked soooo futuristic and I love the music that plays in the area! I love most of the attractions in the area as well (minus Stitch and Astro Orbiter), and my favourite CS in MK is Cosmic Rays! Also, it is so pretty when it's all lit up at night! Here is my photo:

Oh by the way...if you do decide to go in September, you should definitely choose something between the 23 and Oct. 2!;):goodvibes

Main Street does smell delightful, it has so many different yummy smells. I love balloon pictures! I still haven't quite gotten a good balloon picture when I'm done there, good job!

You should do a solo trip, they are very awesome. Or you should do a girl trip with a friend, those are a lot of fun too and very different from going with your husband.

I should have been a history teacher too, I don't know why I didn't because I really love history.

I'll let you have three choices, I'm nice like that. :rotfl:

I love all your reasoning and your pictures, I bet you were a very good student in school. :lmao:

I agree with you too, when I was younger Tomorrowland really felt so exotic and out there and I really loved it.
