I read this intersting thing- Take your ideal weight and multiply it by 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, or 18. 12 if you have a low activity level - 18 if you have a high activity level This is the number of calories you should consume.
12 - no regular excercise
13 - 2x a week excercise
14 -3 X
15 - 4x
16 -5 times
17 -6x
18 - everyday

It was along article and it talked about the kinds of healthy foods that would move you along faster but calories take in and calories burned is really the bottom line.
Whadya think?
Also said women should always eat at least 1200 cals per day.

That is all it comes down to--calories taken in - calories burned = weight gain/loss.

The whole low fat/low carb/South Beach/WW things are all lifestyle choices--they make getting to your calorie goal pleasant and healthy but ultimately it is calories.
