counter services meals

We are going to the world at the end of July/early August for 2 weeks. This trip we are not trying to plan many table services meals...as of right now we have 5 planned for the two weeks. I am looking for recommendations for Counter Service meals in each theme park and whatnot...we are staying at the boardwalk and AKL...THANKS IN ADVANCE.

We returned three weeks ago and really enjoyed some QS resturants.

Our favorites were:

El Perita - MK like the fixings bar you can make a really nice taco salad
Columbia Harbour House - MK We split a tuna salad sandwhich combo and Hummus Sandwhich between four of us and had a really nice small meal.

Yakitoi House - Epcot - Shogun Comination
Tangierine Cafe - Epcot - Shawarma Sandwhiches

Pizzafari - AK Italian Sandwich

We are a family of big eaters (even the kids) so we are always on the look out for filling and tasty food. Hope this helps some!

I know you are going to get a million different answers, but here are our faves:

MK: Pecos Bill's (We love their burgers and their toppings bar) and Cosmic Ray's Cafe (Rotisserie chicken!)
Epcot: Tangierine Cafe (Schwarma platter) and Sunshine Seasons (Only had dessert, but everything looks good!)
DHS: Pizza Planet (Pepperoni Pizza)
AK: We've never done counter-service here, but we are really looking forward to Flame-Tree BBQ. I have heard great things! A lot of people also seem to like the Yak and Yeti counter-service, but we've eaten Yak and Yeti table service and were NOT impressed!

Thanks so much...my father is a big eater and is having a hard time dealing with not having a "sit down" meal each day so I am trying to plan the counter service meals. THANKS YOU.

MK - Cosmic Rays is DH favorite, lots too choose from and the topping bar is great! I prefer CHH for a tuna sandwich or chicken BLT salad

Epcot - Our fav is Tangierine Cafe, man do I love that falafel wrap..I get it every time we go. DH really enjoys Lotus Blossom for shrimp fried rice and a good standby is the brat and kraut from Germany

AK - We love Flame Tree BBQ...great sandwiches and the onion rings are awesome!

DTD - Cannot say enough about WPE...that place is incredible and the portions are huge

HS - Sadly there is nothing we like here

We ate at Flame tree in AK on 5/18, the ribs were gross and dry. No one liked their food except for my mom, she had the bbq sandwich. We also ate at Pizzafari on 5/20 (got rained out on 5/18) the Italian sandwich was great. We also loved the food court in Epcot, after the soarin ride, the desserts were awesome, the strawberry shortcake was to die for. Wolfgang Puk Express was very good, we ate there for lunch on 5/22, I had the chicken and broccoli alfredo, it was yummy. If you are not on the ddp it can be an expensive lunch though.

if you want a big meal, definitely go to Sunshine Seasons in Epcot. They have great sandwiches and salads, but if you want something substantial they have stir fry, salmon, even rotisserie chicken. They also have a huge bakery counter. It's our favorite counter service place in the World.

In MK we like Columbia Harbor House. Downtown we like Earl of Sandwich and Wolfgang Puck Express. You can get a big meal at WPE as well.

My favorite overall is Wolfgang Puck Express in DTD. Amazing! My dad kept saying "and this is a counter service on the dining plan, right?" The food quality is fantastic.

AK: It used to be Tusker House, but now I'm going with Flame Tree BBQ

MK and DHS are only eh for me.

MK: Columbia Harbour House for the Hummus s/w or Cosmic Rays for the rib/chicken platter

AK: Yak & Yeti CS (can also use two snack credits and get 2 egg rolls and an order of fried rice)

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons, Tangeriene Cafe, Norwegian bakery, or French bakery

DS: nothing--usually leave and take the boat to Epcot or the bus to the Pepper Market at CSR

DTD: Wolfgang Puck Express in the Marketplace (best CS on property)

Here are the QS locations that we ate at during our stay 5/9 -5/16

MK:
Cosmic Rays - HORRIBLE experience. Hubby ordered a Greek salad since he is vegetarian. It came with ham on it. Very rushed and loud atmosphere.
Pinnochio Village Haus - Large w/AC (nice perk) and had decent pizza and salad.

EPCOT:
Tangerine Cafe - Delicious meals with so many options to pick from.
Sunshine Seasons - My parents ate here and raved about their meal.

Hollywood Studios:
Backlot commissary - A lot of negatives about this location. For us it had ample seating, AC and decent selection of food. Had a great chicken Caesar salad. Hubby had delicious looking veggie sandwich.

Animal Kingdom:
Pizzafari - Huge place that had a nice variety of items. Once again I had a salad. My boys all loved the pizza.
