I have never thought about this but with the last segment by the team and the fact that I am going to wdw with my now 5year old who will be on the dinning plan I did some thinking. What would happen if I asked them to keep the 4 yuck nuggets and give me just one adult chicken "strip" instead? I would also like to do this at CHH with the nuggets and a piece of fish from the adult menu. Perhaps they could offer a 'childrens serving" of the adults menu as well as the old stand bys for the kids. My son does have a simple taste, but he does not like "nuggets" as much as a "finger" style chicken breast and would love a piece of fish, ribs, pork sandwich. He seems quite limited on the kids menu. I think that it is more of an issue for us because of dining plan. Thoughts? Perhaps The team could try this during a review?

Are you paying for the DDP or getting it for free? If you are getting it for free, it may be beneficial for you to upgrade his park ticket (and his age in the Disney computer system)to an adult (somewhere around $25-30 for the ticket difference) and then he can order adult meals having way more options. It would probably not be very cost effective if you are paying for the dining plan, though. It is not against Disney rules to do this. They often encourage it for kids wanting more options.

When we were at WDW in October 2011, we were told that all quick-service meal credits, adults or children, were all the same. We ordered off the adult menu for all our son's quick-service meals and never had a problem.

At the table service, kids have eat off the kids menu. However, at the quick-service places they can order off either menu!

Hope this helps!

While it is true that the computer does not differentiate the QS credits for kids and adults, you are paying for the # of adults and kids in your party. You cannot order more adult and child meals than your KTTW card states. Any discussion in regards to cheating the system is a violation of Disboard policy.

Whoa, whoa, whoa!

I am not at all talking about cheating a system! It was a Disney Cast Member who told me that it did not matter. I was about to pay oop for a counter service adult meal for my son and they told me to just use the meal plan because all the credit were the same and it did not matter. I also checked at every place before we ordered to make sure that this was okay. Every time that I asked the CM said it would not be a problem at all. No one ever indicated that this was "cheating" or that this should not be done.

I would never encourage cheating and am offended that you would make such an accusation.

The cs meals are my issue so I will be sure to check when i am there if I can use the cs credits for ds to get soemthing of the non-kids menu. Thanks for the heads up on this possibilty!

I was planning to just pay OOP for him if I needed to, just looking to be sure of all my options.

I was not accusing you of anything, just pointing out that it is against Disboard rules to discuss ways around Disney policy. There have been MANY threads about this and they get closed an/or removed every time. It IS cheating the system and I cannot believe that CMs told you to do this. I do believe that you are telling the truth that they said it, I just can't believe a CM would give such inaccuate info. (though many of them don't even know half as much as the people on the Dis! :rotfl:)That's great that they let you do it, but it should not be discussed as a common practice here on the Disboards. It's a big no-no and I was merely trying to keep you from getting an infraction.:flower3:

You can get an adult meal with a child's credit at a place with no kid's menu, but why anyone would think it is okay to get a lot more food without paying for it is kinda obvious to me that it is not the way credits are supposed to be used.
