We don't eat much at AK (had one awful meal at Flame Tree three or four years ago) and usually just do counter service at MK, so I'll combine these two parks.

Ice cream snacks at Tamu Tamu. My ice cream fanantic child had chocolate soft serve at at least six places this trip, and he says this was the best. I think he had three total here. One of my kids got a root beer float and it was served in a souvenir cup with one of the character straws that costs $3 in the gift shops. Dh and I had fruit smoothies and they were not particularly good. They were purple, so you expected a berry taste, but the taste was pretty much banana and, I guess, yogurt. I wouldn't get one again.

MK Counter Service

Pecos Bill's -- We ate here too many times this trip! My kids really like this place for some reason and don't want to go any where else. We ate mostly burgers and they were fine, especially since you have so many fresh toppings to choose from -- lettuce, tomato, raw onions, grilled onions, pickles, cheese sauce, mushrooms, etc. I tried the chicken wrap and found it to be pretty good although some of the lettuce could be omitted. It was huge -- easily enough for two people since it comes with fries. One tip: if you eat there near closing and the cheese sauce is no longer at the toppings bar, ask for some at the counter. We did fries and sauce during the parade and they gave us a huge container.

Columbia Harbor House -- DH and I escaped from Pecos Bill's for a quieter lunch. He had a nice salad that included nuts, pineapple and feta cheese. I had the coral reef sandwich -- hummus, broccoli slaw and tomato on toasted vegetable bread. I had this sandwich last time I went to that restaurant and considered it to be my favorite counter service meal ever. Alas, this one was not the same. It was soggy and the slaw too runny -- tasted like it might have been made pretty far ahead. I would still try it again, though, since the first one was so good.

Snacks in MK

Dole whip -- We finally tried these pineapple soft serve treats. DH and two of the kids really liked them and got them again another day. I thought they were just okay, but I'm not a fan of soft serve ice cream. On the second visit, the chocolate soft serve fanatic got that instead. One of the kids also had a root beer float from there.

Auntie Gravity's ice cream treats -- Chocolate soft serve and root beer floats again, which were fine. DH had a smoothie, which he said was much better than the one at Tamu Tamu.

The Lunching Pad icees and turkey leg -- My 15-year-old who eats about every 20 minutes said the turkey leg smelled better than it tasted, but that it was still pretty good. Very messy, though. Icees were good.

Mickey bar -- I love chocolate, but I thought this was too rich. They were better when only the ears was chocolate dipped -- anyone else remember those?
