Counter Service Seating & CMs

Are they still having CM's help you find a table at counter service places? I heard they block off some seating and they won't let anyone in your party hold a table. You all have to have your food? How is that working out?

This happens only at the large CS in MK (and possibly Electric Umbrella at Epcot) when it is extremely busy. It apparently works reasonably well when it is that busy.
