OK, planning our first trip to Universal in January. Any recommendations on good on site counter service restaurants for my family of 5 that will not break the budget? My teenage kids are not fussy, so any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

There are usually four of us when we go to the Universal parks and we always found prices for food very reasonable in the parks and citywalk with the only exception being the Hardrock cafe is expensive but the food is good.
citywalk our favs are Nascar grille ,Bubba Gumps and NBA city.
IOA thunderfalls and mythos
Studios Louies
Hope this helps :thumbsup2

check out the menus to see what is available and the costs involved.

allears.net have some older menus but on the UO website, check out the park guide brochure for more food details.

what i consider inexpensive, might not to you.

not all the restaurants/cs in the parks have the same food items.

Not to flame you or anything, but I think the OP was looking for CS, and not TS. I've only been to US/IOA twice; if I remember correctly, all of the places you mentioned (with the exception of Thunderfalls) are TS. All good choices though. :thumbsup2

I totally agree with HRC, and Mythos. Those our favs.

I was there a few years ago and really enjoyed Blondies (home of the Dagwood) in IOA. Not too pricey either. Good enough to share also

Not to flame or hijack a thread, but Im surprised about the great reviews for Hard Rock. I have been to the one in NYC and San Juan, and both were average at best.

Is it possible this one is the exception?

My recommendations would be:

Studios - Louie's

IOA - Thunder Falls Terrace or Comic Strip Cafe

CityWalk - Whopper Bar...not a lot of counter service places

i haven't had any issues with the food at hrc in cw.
i guess it all depends on what you order.

thought it was much better than the hrc in chgo and hawaii that i have been to.

it's all subjective to the diner though

Does anyone know if you get the 10% discount with your AAA card at all counter service/table service restaurants in US/IOA or if it is just select ones?

TIA :goodvibes

We've always enjoyed Pastamore as well as far as CityWalk.
