Hi everyone,

I was wondering about the payment option for the counter service eateries at the World. Do they accept credit card, debit card, or just DDP and cash?

If they do accept credit/debit card, how much does that slow down the lines?

I have a credit card that gives me airmiles for every dollar spent and that could add up to a lot at WDW, especially since I am paying for my friend as well. I'd sure like to get those airmiles, but not if it means holding up a queue of hungry, hot people.

The counter service restaurants do accept credit cards. I'm not sure about debit cards, I haven't used one. I don't think it slows the line down at all, it's the same amount of time to process as the dining plan people. I'm not sure if the outside carts accept credit or not.

This made me think of those stupid commercials that show the one person that uses cash and stops everyone in their tracks. In reality, it doesn't slow anything down.

Disney counter service accepts the "normal" cash and traveler's checks plus -

Debit cards, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner's Club, room key charges, and gift cards (Disney and those listed above).

Swiping plastic doesn't slow down lines at all. The cashiers are used to dealing with it and there's always a pen there for your signature.

I just asked a similar question about using the gift cards you can get from the Disney Store. I knew you could use Disney Dollars for CS, but was unsure of the plastic giftcards. Answers I got were YES you can use these to pay for CS meals...which is great as we have 2 $25 cards lying in the drawer! Once my kids got to that inbetween and teen age, the t-shirts and things that we used to buy from the Disney Store did not quite measure up to the ones from Hot Topic for their tastes...so I just held on to the cards. I am really glad I did now! Plus, each kid can have a card now nad not loose bills of the disney dollars or cash!:thumbsup2
