Counter Service Meals include...

Am I correct in reading that Counter Service entrees at the parks & resorts do not include a drink? From the menus it looks like the entree & drink are purchased separately. This of course is not on the Dining Plan where a meal would include entree, beverage, & dessert. We are planning a trip without the dining plan this time around and just wanted to double check my numbers. Thanks.

Correct. Counter Service is generally a la carte in terms of assembling a "meal."

Depends what and where. Things that normally classify as Snack often is a lunch order for people.

Kid's meals are meals, they include an entre, some fruit and a small drink. I order them all the time since I don't eat a lot and am never on the dining plan. Have never ordered from anywhere at a QS in Disney that they didn't include the drink and fruit.

No, for the most part it is not an appetizer or desert. Desert is included appetizers are not.

If budgeting for quick service meals, remember that most (if not all) of the quick service locations will give you free ice water (as opposed to a $2.75 Dasani). Whether as a result of cost-cutting or just trying to stay hydrated/healthy-ish, we often go this route.

We got free ice water with our counter service meals and they gave them in the largest size cup without asking for it! In the summer heat it was wonderful!
