Question... What's the closest dining plan counter service meal location to Fort Wilderness? We are doing the Disney Dining plan and I see their isn't a counter service meal available in Fort Wilderness. Or does something in the Trails to go count as a counter service meal?

We arrive just prior to lunch time on Dec 24, and I'm trying to map out lunch before going into the park.:santa:

Thank you for your advice.

Closest would be Roaring Fork in Wilderness Lodge. As far as I know nothing at TE is covered as a CS on DDP (like the nice use of abbreviations?) Good Luck

Thank you! That is what I was figuring.... Does the Boat from FW go to the Wilderness Lodge? or do you have to use bus transporation?

Obviously a very NEWBY~ Thank you for you help.

You can use counter service credits at the snack shop at the Meadows Pool. They have salads, fruit, prezels, chips, and drinks. I can't remember what other things that had there. You can also use your snack credits there.

The Meadows is closed for the season muh dear. Was over there last night and saw the sign, so as Bill Engvall would say, there's your sign.

Yup. Prior to 3PM FW to WL to MK -- after 3PM MK to WL to FW (I think that's right but I get confused easily). But over Christmas week there could be changes because of crowds.

Check out this for any transportation questions. It's a big help

Those routes are no longer correct.

There is a FW to WL to CR boat OR FW to CR to WL boat and a direct boat to MK.

There is also a bus from Settlement to WL and a pathway from Settlement to WL

Oh no....I didn't think anything closed for the season around FW :sad2: Is there anything else that closes/changes the the holidays ??

Well, in that case....I recommend Roaring Forks over at the Wilderness Lodge. The kids love their pizza and they have pretty good soup and sandwiches too. And you get a dessert with your lunch and they have REALLY big bakery treats you can pick from. We saved some for our trip back home ;)

The resort boats are now running FW-WL-CR from morning start-up to 3:00PM then they switch to FW-CR-WL till shut down. They said they did this after studying the traffic patterns for the passengers - I guess a lot of WL people go to the HDDR and MBYBBQ in the evenings so they made that the shortest route in the evenings. The only thing I know for sure is they make the switch at 3:00PM.

I just wanted to thank all of you for your comments!

Leaving for Disney in 4 days! I can't believe it!

We usually do Roaring Forks at WL but sometimes do the CS at CR. A boat goes to both of them. Uh, is the new CS at CR yet?

If we have Park-hoppers, we have been known to go to MK for CS.......and if we then want to ride after our meal......well, perfect. :thumbsup2

Well we have only gone from FW to MK in the mornings and have yet to stop at WL either coming or going. At around 1:30 PM today we took a boat from the MK back to FW and it was also a direct boat. I wouldn't try and figure out the boats too much since everything according to a bus driver who has been driving since the park opened says it's all automated and can change w/o notice. If you see a mode of transportation show up go up and ask the driver if it goes to where you want to go and just follow the "HURD".

It used to be fun and we had competitions with our sons with each taking a different mode of transportation at the start and see who got back to the trailer first and how long the other options took. This was when all surface modes went thru the TTC.

So, no boat to the poly? That is our earliest character breakfast. I was counting on the boat. I mentioned when I added 3 to our ADR today that the time was OK because we can just hop the boat from FW to the Poly and she said nothing. I guess everyone is confused. I guess I can take a boat to CR and then the monorail to the Poly. I can't see the boat to MK and then boat to Poly being faster. Maybe we will send have of us one way and half the other and see who gets there first.:hourglass

You can also drive to the Poly and they will give you a guest parking pass good for 3 hours ... it's like a 5 min drive. That's what we did for the Spirit of Aloha which was easier than taking a boat then monorail there and back just for that dinner. You can also take a boat to the MK then hop on the resort monorail to the Poly.

The boat to MK doesn't start till 8:30 in the morning, so boat to CR and monorail to Poly is really your only option "really" early.

There are two different boats - one is just for the resorts and the other is for the MK. When you walk out onto the FW dock the MK boat is on the left and it is direct to the MK. The resort boat is on the right and it only goes to FW, CR, and WL.

Well, we don't want to drive there because we will be going to Epcot or MK afterward. We plan to take the monorail to whichever one it is. So, unless I can leave my car there all day, it is only WDW transpo. Thanks for the info on the time Carol. Our ressie is for 8:30. I was figuring just catch whatever boat showed up first. Guess it will be the resort boat huh?! ;) Well, I will let ya know how it works out. I guess I will allow extra time getting there. If we are running late I will drive I guess. We will see. I have never driven to the Poly, so it would be a new experience for me. That's what I like about the fort, so many transpo choices.

Maybe things have changed, but as far back as we can remember since the WL opened there were always times when the boat on the left stopped both at WL and FW to/from MK and the order of the stops did change at times. The launch on the right goes I know to the CR and might also go to WL, but we have never taken that launch.
