I'm looking for recommendations for a good counter service place at MGM, at Magic Kingdom(besides Columbia Harbor House which we've already put on our itinerary), and around the Boardwalk hotel. I'd like any good recommendations for these 3 places but it would be a plus if they have something good for my vegetarian husband and for the 4 little kids that will be with us. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

I like the following:

The Pinocchio Village Haus

"Real boys and girls can enjoy tasty treats in this enchanting corner of Fantasyland® where Pinocchio lives. Feast on macaroni and cheese, Smucker's® Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwiches, antipasto, pizza, specialty fries and desserts."

It's located next to It's a Small World. It's rarely crowded and they have good sandwiches that are different from the typical counter service locations. Its good for parents and kids.

The Boardwalk Bakery has some yummy, yummy treats. I think they had sandwiches, too. That's what I went in for...came out with a giant raspberry doughnut. That's a good lunch, too, right? ;)

In the MK, I vote for Pecos Bills. It really isn't much better than Cosmic Rays, but I prefer the atmosphere there.

IMO, the counter service in MGM is six of one and half a dozen of the other. Neither is really good or really bad. Both are blah, but fine. :)

Well, for DS I would suggest Pizza Planet or Backlot Express. Pizza Planet has an arcade, so I think if you aren't planning on letting the kids play (I'm not sure how old they are or if they are interested in that type of us) then you shouldn't go there. But they serve pizza and stuff. Backlot Express serves burgers and chicken fingers, stuff like that. It's nice because it's kinda to the side so it's not usually really busy.

As for MK, besides CHH, I like Pecos Bill's. This is also a burger joint.

As for the BW, I don't know, because I have never been there before.

MGM really doesn't have great CS - We ate at Backlot Express - it was fine - nothing special, ample seating and air conditioned.

MK - We enjoyed (belive it or not) Pinocchio Village Haus (just pizza/salads but decent). Casey's hot dogs are really good too (on Main St), or Cosmic Ray's in Tomorrowland.

We like Cosmic Rays at MK because it has a lot of variety and the three of us all like different things. At MGM - we like Backlot Express. We've eaten at the Commissary a couple of times but didn't really like it

DH and I really enjoyed the cannolli at The Pinocchio Village Haus (MK).

Although the pizza is just a "bobili-type" crust with a little sauce and cheese, I liked it - the meal came with a small salad too which made it one of the more healthier treats - I got mine without the meat (I'm sure they had it with pepperoni too).

DH got the meat sandwich - can't remember what was in it but he liked it. (and again, we liked the small sweet treat at the end!).

I've never heard much good about MGM CS so we are opting next year to eat lunch at Mama Melrose which we liked.
