Counter Service--going solo

I was planning a Disney trip with 2 friends this summer--then they both changed their minds. (one has 2 out of town family weddings--the other got a new "boyfriend" and is going to Hawaii with him!)

I decided I'd just go alone! I want one more Disney experience before it is no longer an option. I have several medical issues and wear AFOs on both legs, use one forearm crutch and will be bringing my own GoGo scooter. I changed my reservation from a deluxe to a value to cut costs and am doing the dining plan because that way I can afford some table service meals.

Okay--my question-finally! Are there CMs that will help you get your food to a table at counter service restaurants? If you'ver ever gone solo, how do you handle this? I do have a cup holder and basket on my ECV, but am not sure quite how to manage as a plate wouldn't fit in the basket and I tend to drop things so using my crutch and carrying in one hand would be risky!

I appreciate any suggestions.

I can't answer for all CM"s or all counter service areas. I use an ECV. The few times I have had to get my food alone the CM"s were very helpful and asked me where I was sitting and would bring my food. There have even been times that other guest would help me. I wouldn't let it worry you. You should be OK. Have fun!!

Thanks--I feel very reassured! I guess I was letting some of the negative comments I was getting from others get to me. I live alone and am very independent so I know I can do this!

Go for it, I'm sure you'll be fine. If you need help, but don't get offered it, don't be afraid to ask. The CMs have all been really friendly with me. Once I dropped a plate of waffles on the floor and they offered to get me a replacement, even though it was my own stupid fault (trying to balance a tray across the armrests of a wheelchair was not the brightest move I made that holiday  )!

Have a great trip flying solo, and let us know how it goes :goodvibes !

If they don't offer, don't be afraid to just ask if there is someone who can help. Even though the person at the cash register or the pick up window may not be able to leave their post, they have easy access to a supervisor who can get someone.
