Counter Service ? El Pirata Y el Perico

It is really the same concept as Pecos Bill's, except with tacos instead of burgers, etc. If you like Mexican food, then you will love this counter service. They have beef and vegetarian style tacos, as well as choices of rice and/or beans on the side. You can then go to the fixin's bar and go crazy! Here is a pic just to give you an idea of the yumminess!:

Ok I sure hope it's open next month! I didn't realize you could put what you like on it. DH will be happy too as he doesn't like a lot of cheese (um hello who doesn't like cheese?) or sour cream and I love it!

This is what is says on the Dining News Section of All Ears Net: El Pirata y El Perico, in the Magic Kingdom's Adventureland, is open from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and may remain open through the summer.

Well we went in July and it was pretty good. I cant understand why it would ever be closed considering its so close to POTC, that there is always alot of traffic in that area. The table layout isnt the best, and the fixins bar is kinda hidden in the back room. I saw alot of people eating their tacos/salads plain because they didnt realize where the fixins bar is. I highly recommend the Taco salad! By the time you pile cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and salsa on it, it can be huge! Quite the bargain and pretty tasty!

Tacos are one of our favorite fast food meals, and they sure could use some other quick service besides burgers for party nights, so I sure hope that rumor is true... We would sure try it if we ever saw it open!

Thanks for the info everyone! Sounds like there's a good chance there are some tacos in my future!

Had lunch there today at 2 pm! It was very good!

The noodle station was also open yesterday and that was the first time I had ever seen it open. The food there was pretty good too!!!

This one hasn't been open for us yet!

But doesn't Pecos Bill's also serve a taco salad? I know it isn't on the menu but I swear I have read about people getting one there? Am I nuts or what????

Pecos Bill's is on my list to try .... someday!!!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

We have had the taco salad at Pecos Bills. In the 15 years we have going to WDW, P & P was only open twice.

Does anyone know if the taco salad at Peco's Bills is anything like the taco salad at El Perico?

If so, that might be a good alternative if my first choice isn't open!:goodvibes

We love the taco salad from El Perico, if memory serves it had black olives and refried beans. The last 9 trips this place was closed and it bums us out, hope it is open next week when we are there.

Oct 07 we had the taco salad at Peco Bills and it was very greasy, no beans, no olives. We had to doctor it up from the topping bar. The worst part of it was the taco salad kept biting us back all night long, it was killing us with the grease!

We ate there last in December 07. They no longer had the beans in the salad at that time. We have been eating here for years and the menu has been steadily declining. DW had the taco salad and we had to ask where the rest of it was. They handed her a taco shell with two small scoops of "meat" in it and that was all. We told them they forgot the beans and they said the beans were no longer included. We had to fill it up with the lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, etc. from the toppings bar. The side of beans that used to come with the taco plate are also gone. All I got was two taco shells filled with "meat" and a small cup 1/2 filled with rice. We were quite disappointed and did complain to the manager, but he really didn't care. It's just another case of WDW charging more and giving you less.
