Counter Service Dining: reviews please!!!

thank you all, this is awesome!!!!! i am adding a list of "Recommended" places to my schedule page, after cross-referencing menus, of course .

i am so used to dining on the dining plan at WDW i feel like we have to eat a ton every day, plus i want to make sure the kids dont just live on pretzels, tigger tails, and churros for a week!! but we do have table service plans for just about every day as our "big" meal, and perhaps we will share a counter meal and then snack.

keep the suggestions coming! i love going into a vacation with an idea of where to go.

Don't Forget to Catch the Show while you Eat at the Golden Horseshoe in Fontierland. We love the Chicken Tenders with ranch sauce!! It will soon become one of your favorite shows!!

Why does everyone think that a self serve beverage station means free refills? I'm pretty sure that isn't the intention of Disney, they just wanted to cut down on labor for serving drinks. Look at the design and layout of the beverage stations, they are not out in the open, they are in a area before you pay at a cashier.

Sorry, just my 2 cents I felt the need to share,

At Rancho de Zocalo and White Water Snacks it's free as long as you show the receipt to the cashier on your way out. But, I'm sure it's only while you're eating there. Anyways, it would be a pain to carry around that paper cup and go alllll the way back to those restaurants just to fill up your soda.

I love the Baked Chicken at the Plaza Inn!! It is very delicious & tastes so much like homemade food---it is my favorite meal at Disneyland!

We like going to the Hungry Bear for a burger and fries. It cool and relaxing to sit in the shade by the river while we eat our lunch.

I didn't look and see how long, but it closes for refurb on Monday the 12th... we'll be hitting it Sat or Sun for sure!! There is also the corndog cart in DL, that some Disers have told me is the same...

Yeah! We're going to be there the 16th through the 19th, I think I heard it's closed until the 22nd? BOO!!

If corn dog castle is closed. Checks to see if the Red Wagon is open. It is located between the Camera shop & Plaza Inn at the end of main street. They serve the same YUMMY! corn dogs, but not the cheese sticks.

Oh that's good to know and the cart in Disneyland! I'll just have to do some comparison eating!
