I am asking this for a family member who did not like my answer. I told her that I would ask the experts~LOL! :worship:

How much would you budget for 3 adults, eating 2 counter service meals per day, plus a snack each?

Thanks!

Most CS adult meals are approx $7 to $10 that doesn't include a drink.

For DH and I to each have a meal and a drink comes to about $21-$23. I budget $25 per CS meals, just in case.

Snacks range from $2.95 and up

Dh and I budget $20 per cs meal but we normally share a large drink bc we bring lots of water with us. For snacks usually budget $4 each - if we get something cheaper we often end up with an extra drink, so we usually spend the $4.

I always budget for more than we will need, just in case. For this I would say $35.00 -$40.00 each per day. No less.

I agree that $75 would be pretty close assuming normal eaters ordering average meals.

At least $75, more if they will want to buy additional drinks during the day apart from meals and depending on what snacks they chose. Most places charge $2.50 for bottled water.

You might suggest your family member take a look at the counter service menus on allears. Make sure they account for the cost of drinks and tax in addition to the meals.

I'd agree with the $75 as well. We budget about $15 for each of us for each meal plus about $5 for a snack. Usually have a water bottle with us so don't usually get extra drinks throughout the day. Some days we are over this, others under but it usually comes out about right over our 5-7 day trip.

I also would also say $75/day.

We don't buy many drinks in the parks though (except a large soda to share at a CS meal) since we bring our own water in so it would be much more than that if you are buying a lot of drinks.

We'd would budget $75, but we're pretty frugal so we'd probably end up spending closer to $50. Even though we're pretty careful, I think having wiggle room to have a nicer meal once in a while, extra drinks or desserts etc. is important!

Oops - had to come back and edit. I forgot it was three people not two. We'd definitely plan to spend the $75 and I'd take $10 -$20 more per day as a cushion.

For 3 adults, I would think that $75 per day is low, unless they know they will share some meals or not get beverages. I would think at least $90 and possibly $105. -- Suzanne

I would lean closer to $30 pp per day if they are all adults. If they're only eating two meals, then they're going to want an entire meal and not half of a double cheeseburger shared with someone else.

I revise my answer of $75 a day. I was thinking of DH and I, two adults, not three as OP questioned. $110-115 would be more like it. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: I am laughing at the revision of answers.
My answer (that was met with great :scared1:) was $150. I said that it would give a cushion. If you come home with money, great. I would rather budget extra than have to watch every Mickey bar.

Well, if they are staying on property, they could do the Quick Service Dining Plan, for $35/adult you get 2 CS meals and 2 snack per night of their stay as well as 1 refillable mug for 2011, for 2012, they removed 1 snack credit for the $35. The QS credit includes the entree, dessert, and drink.

It is really worth it if all they are going to eat are CS meals.
