Counter Service at HS

We do not have any ADR's for the whole day at Hollywood Studios. We are grabbing a snack for breakfast and we do have LATE dinner ressies at T-Rex. I haven't heard much about CS places at HS except how awful ABC Commissary is. What's good at HS?

I always like the Backlot Express. They basically serve burgers, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, a hot turkey/cheese sandwich, a veggie wrap, and a southwest chicken salad. They also have a nice toppings bar so you can dress your burger/sandwich with whatever you want.

We ate at the ABC commissary and actually the food was quite good. DH and I had the chicken blue sandwich and DD had the turkey sandwich. Service was good and the resturant was clean.

OMG!!! Starring Rolls!! we just got back from free dining in sept. and we had their black forest ham sandwich and my dh had the best desert "butterfinger cupcake". It was covered in butterfinger and when you sliced thru it, there was chocolate and white cream!! it was soooo good! we will be stopping there in dec. again. we did not like the abc place and pizzaplanet was good.

Unfortunately really not much of anything....

You might consider a bite at Starring Rolls or snack at Toy Story Pizza Planet - IMHO that's about it for the quick serve places.

I don't know why others on here don't like it but my family and I have been to ABC Commissary multiple times and found nothing wrong with it, plus we also thought the food they offer was very good.

We like ABC Comissary and Pizza Planet at HS. Usually Pizza Planet gets the slight nod for my family since we really get sick of burgers at CS places around Disney. There really aren't too many places that serve pizza so it's a nice change of pace. I did like how they now have a veggie pizza as an option besides just pepperoni or cheese. That was really yummy! Also like that they give you a salad with it. It's good food and a fun atmosphere but it can get crowded at times so time it right.

Well I do not see this up there yet, but we like Backlot Express, the last time we were there we weren't fans of all the choices so we tried Studio Catering Company, it is kind of tucked in the back. It is by the Honey I Shrunk the Kids Playground. It is really good!! My lil sis and I got the Chicken Ceasar Wrap, my mom got the greek salad, and my dad got the pulled bbq pork sandwich. We all enjoyed it alot and it is decently quiet back there. It is shaded and has misters which was really nice. I believe we got the marble cheesecake and chocolate cake we were on DDP so it comes with that, and those were just given disney quick service desserts. So yes a good choice ! Though Starring Rolls sounds great too!!

My family likes TS Pizza Planet because of the atmosphere, the pizza is so-so, but the kids really like it. We are also planning on going to the Backlot Express, have heard many good things about this place and it seems like they have a very good variety of foods (have 2 kids that don't like the same thing, unless it is pizza). The only thing I am trying to figure out is which one is closest to the Osbourne Lights. I would like to have dinner and then be able to head over there for the lighting ceremony. Also, the ABC Commissary has very good Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, just a suggestion for your breakfast choice.

Dh and I liked Pizza Planet. We got there early and there was a nice breeze so we sat outside. I liked the veggie pizza and dh will eat any pizza as long as it has pepperoni.

I was at Starring Rolls last week and it was amazing!! The sandwiches are huge and just delicious!! The deserts are just to die for. My son had the butterfinger cupcake, but it wasn't as good as the chocolate peanutbutter cupcake. There was a chocolate/peanutbutter fudge in the center of the cupcake!! So yummy! you won't be disappointed.
