Counter Service at Hollywood Studios

Step 1) Leave DHS

Step 2) Find decent CS somewhere else

Step 3) Return to DHS if necessary

ITA with this advice. There is no CS restaurant within DHS that is worth eating at. We often will hop to EPCOT from DHS, or go over to the Boardwalk Bakery or B&C (which is not a counter service, but is a reasonably priced meal).

I sure would like to know more about Fairfax Fare. Their menu looks nice...Chicken, ribs, brisket.

Anyone?

Ditto. I love the ribs at FT BBQ in AK, and believe it is the same at Cosmic Ray's.

We usually do Rosie's All American or Catalina Eddie's in DHS, becuase the other CS do not impress us. Some of the stuff at the commissary just looked odd.

I see now thought, on allears, they have the double cheesburger. DW might like the fried fish. Have to look into that in more detail. Chicken Bleu could be good. I'm guessing its either with bleu cheese or cordon bleu.

I can't believe how many terrible things I have heard about the CS at DHS. I didn't know it was in walking distance to the Beach Club. Thanks so much for the advice :) (And thanks for posting the question OP :goodvibes )

Everything is in walking distance if you have the time (Stephen Wright)

Seriously though, while within walking distance, this walk is going to kill a good 40 minutes of your day (back and forth), plus eating time and you have a 90 minute lunch.

HS cs are not great, but they aren't as bad as you'd think if you just read the posts here.

We really liked Starring Rolls for lunch. Sandwhiches were great and the desserts are some of the best choices for any counter service at WDW.

I've had a few things off their menu and gave it about 3 times and everytime it is fair to poor each time. Very bland, fries were soggy, chicken nuggets were chewy. We were all for trying it again but 3 strikes your out. We will stick with The Starring Rolls.

What did you eat at Fairfax Fare?

I always get the Fairfax Salad - chopped romaine, refried pinto beans, pulled pork, roasted corn and sweet peppers, Monterey Jack and corn tortillas

DH always wishes he would have gotten it (he always gets a turkey leg). Haven't been disappointed with it yet.
