Counter Service at Animal Kingdom

Well, Well. My research has lead me here to the boards - once more! Anyway, this time it is finding the perfect place for me to sit down, relax, and enjoy a meal at the Animal Kingdom July 15th! Along with me will be my Mother [40s] and Father [40s]. I will be paying for everything on this trip so I am choosing Counter Service. Bascially because we like the Counter Service offered at Magic Kingdom [Comic Rays] and it serves us good. Anyway, for those who have went to Animal Kingdom which would you choose and why?

My Df and I prefer Tusker House. The food is excellent and there is tons of seating inside.

Pizzafari is my favorite CS in all of WDW. I think it's horribly overlooked.

Love the Italian Deli Sandwich at Pizzafari..a must do for me every trip!

WE love the Tusker House! For not so "normal" counter service food, this place is great. They have a salmon plate that is wonderful, and the kids can get a chicken leg (not fried) with mash tatoes. YUM! Just nice for a change from the normal fries, chicken stips, burger. It has A/C too during the summer. NICE place to cool down.

AK may be NAHTAHZU, but Pizzafari sure is! I LOVED the food, but the lines were incredibly long and the service extremely slow. The Italian sandwich ROCKS tho!

I picked Tusker House, because the Rotisserie chicken is great and you can sit inside with airconditioning. My second choice is Flame Tree, the bbq is great here as well. We enjoyed sitting by the water in the covered area, it was not as noisy as Tusker house and nice to watch the ducks etc.

I voted 'other' because I have two favorites and could not decide between them; Flame Tree and Tusker House. I guess, since you're going in July, I'd pick TH for the AC over FT for the BBQ...

We liked Tusker House a lot, the salmon, mashed potatoes and green beans are nice for a counter service restaurant. The food is a bit salty for my taste, but most things in WDW are.

Tusker house- yummy chicken and love the kids choices and the AC is a welcome change in AK on a hot August day!! DH and I have had the food discussion and reminded ourselves to shop light. We always end up with way more food than we need- so we are going to try to split some of the Counter Service meals we have. In the heat of July we just don't seem as hungry but get caught up in the moment of the "line" and over order. One chicken meal would be enough for the both of us I think (well that and that yummy cake.... )

I was really disappointed in Tusker House when we were there last week. I've always liked it in the past. Also, Restaurantosaurus is just a McDonalds. Yuck! Was it always that way? Next time I will definitely try one of the other CS restaurants.

We have eaten at both Tusker House and Flame Tree. I liked the food at both spots, but the fact that there is air conditioned indoor seating at Tusker House and a better variety of offerings makes it the better of the two in my eyes. Maggie

I love Flam Tree BBQ. It has a better variety of foods than the others and they also have that very serene pool and lake nearby. Ahhh, I can feel the cool breeze now.....

I voted other because my favorite AK CS is the Chakranadi Chicken Shop! They have yummy stuff that's something different that what most places offer, and it's never too crowded. They also have a nice, shady seating area.

I love Tusker House. In addition to the great food, it is nice to just sit down in an air conditioned area and recharge your batteries. It is a relaxing place.
