All right sports fans, we're seven days out from landing at POR and staying for seven long days. I have ADR's @ Flying Fish, California Grill, Coral Reef, Kona, Raglon Road, Fultons and Teppan Endo. My question is where do you Disney Vets (Experts) recommend for counter service (My SO and I have the DDP) at the four major them parks? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dr. Ellis :wizard:

Go Pack!!

7 days to go!!!

Here are our favorites:
MK-Pecos Bill, love the hamburger toppings-Columbia Harbor House is good also
AK- Flame tree bbq, I have been dreaming of the salad w/ chicken in the tortilla shell,
MGM- we don't really like anything here, the toy story planet pizza is OK
EP- Sunshine Season Food Fair, many choices, large eating area all inside

Magic Kingdom- El Pirata y El Perico (if it's open-- it's always a surprise if it will be open on any given day) for the tacos. Pecos Bill's- I haven't eaten here in a while, but I've always enjoyed it in the past.

Animal Kingdon- Flame Tree Barbeque for the pork sandwich

MGM- I don't really frequent that park, so can't suggest anything

Epcot-- Boulangerie Patisserie in France, Sunshine Seasons in the Land (lots of choices, lots of desserts).

Question about these counter service places too...Would you say the place that you recommend serve good portions? Are you getting a lot for your money? Thanks.

I think the portions at Disney are generous. But it all depends on how much you normally eat and are used to.

Epcot: Sunshine Seasons and Yorkshire County Fish & Chips

MK: Casey's or Cosmic Ray's

AK: Flame Tree

DTD: Earl of Sandwich or WP Express

MGM: Starring Rolls (I think they have sandwiches as well as pastries). Not wild about MGM counter service meals. Some people like Backlot Express. To tell you the truth, MGM is a 1/2 day park for me, so I try to time my meals so I don't have to eat there.

I'm looking for decent counter service at MGM, too. And not Toy Story Pizza Planet - yuck. Any other suggestions? :confused3

I don't do counter at MGM. Basically because I'm very fond of The Brown Derby... Consider it.

Toy Story Planet and ABC Commissonary are fine for a quick, decent CS meal.

the two best CS in all of WDW are........
DTD....Wolfgang Puck's Express
AK....Flame tree BBQ (their onion rings are a great snack or meal add on too)

We very rarely do more than a snack at MGM or MK. In Epcot we usually grab fish and chips in England, or the American Pavilion has a pretty decent burger and fries.

Earl of Sandwich at DTD is a great choice for CS!

MGM we've always liked Pizza Planet (but it's probably the only time we eat pizza at wdw) and Flatbread Grill (love the greek salad) and we're also fans of the snack stand across from the Beauty/Beast theatre that has all the fresh fruit, pickles, etc...

This is my family's first trip to DW (well my first time plannng as "the mom"!) I have already made our TS reservations but wasn't sure if we needed to make CS reservations? We will be using them mostly for lunches.

DTD - WPE is to die for and EoS is great for a quick sandwich

MK - We love hot dogs from Caseys. Used to like Peco Bills alot but this last trip it was not good so I would have to go with Cosmic Rays chicken caesar salad

MGM - NOTHING!

AK - Flame Tree BBQ is super good

EPCOT - Germany for a brat and kraut, China for egg rolls and shrimp fried rice, England for fried fish, Morocco for the yummy meatballs and saffron rice, Sunshine Seasons has great soups and salads

No, you do not need to make CS reservations.

On our 1st and only trip here's where we ate CS:
MK:
Peco's Bill's Cafe-Very good burgers w/ a fixin's bar with tons of choices. Highly recommend
Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station-Awful, especially coming from CA where we have real Chinese food and not nasty "asian" cuisine.

AK:
Pizzafari-Average pizza. It was indoors and it was raining.

Didn't really find any appetizing places at MGM and at Epcot we ate TS.

MK

Cosmic Rays - great choice of food. Fab fixings bar. Huge portions.
Caseys - Hot dog and fries. Try to get there a bit before wishes and sit outside on a table. Great view.
Main St. Bakery - Not really a meal but lots of yummy cakes pastries etc.

AK

Hot dog stand beween Kilimanjaro and Everest. Couldnt find anything we fancied and we were starving. Found this little hot dog cart here next to a litle area with chairs and overturned barrels for tables. Dont know if it was cos we were starving but it was one of the best hot dogs ive ever tasted.

The Flame Tree Barbeque is also great.

MGM

Everywhere is awful in my opinion. Backlot express is the best of a bad bunch

EPCOT

Seasons - Lots of choices, plenty of seats, great food.
Yorkshire County Fish Shop - Great traditional English Fish and Chips. Take it to the gardens at the back of the Uk. There is a lovely little square with benches where you might catch the British Invasion.
Rose and Crown Pub - not the dining rooms but the actually pub part. They have a small bar menu, which includes the fish and chips, and a fab roast beef and cheese sandwich. The only catch in here is that they are not many tables, only about 3 or 4 and you may have to wait, although you can have a beer whilst you wait:)
