or Ham, or both, which is what we're having! :)

A week today is Thanksgiving, and it seems to have crept up so quickly this year! :)

What's going to be on your groaning board? Is the dinner at home, or are you traveling to visit family?

Dinner is here on Monday. At the moment, 15 of my family members are planning to attend, and they're all bringing food, thank goodness! :)

Turkey, ham, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, squash, and other veggies, plus the requisite pumpkin pie and whipped cream, and perhaps if I'm organized enough, a couple of pear pies too! :)

For those of you that'll be in WDW on T-Day, do you have any special plans on where you'll eat? Chowing down on a turkey leg in the MK? ;) :D

That we should have the full Nine Yards!LOL

So I guess I will have me hand up inside a Turkey this Year!LOL

It will be Sunday so that I can rest Monday!

Now to go out and find a small one so that we don't end up having leftover turkey until christmas!LOL

The whole family is off to Orillia to spend Sunday at one of my sisters homes. It will be turkey and ham, with all the sides.
There are close to 35 when we are all together, however a lot of the older grandchildren will not be there.
Have a great Thanksgiving weekend everyone!

Marilynn

I miss Thanksgiving in October. :(

My parents are actually visiting my wife and I next weekend so it looks like they'll miss Thanksgiving too. Maybe we'll cook a turkey anyway! :p

LOL, Scratch!! :p That reminded me of the Mr. Bean Christmas sketch, where he ends up with the turkey over his head!! :teeth: :teeth: Anyone else ever see that?

Marilynn, my Dad spent part of his youth growing up in Orillia! :) His great Aunt had an old house right beside some railroad tracks. When we visited there as kids, we used to put our heads down on the track to see if we could hear any trains coming!!

Are you a transplanted Canadian, Stuart? :) American Thanksgiving is so close to Christmas, I'd be run ragged getting both events planned! Go for the turkey! Maybe the weather will cooperate, and you can barbecue it! :)

I'll be having....................................... Something in a restaurant in ORLANDO!!!

Don't check into Dis till the 14th but we fly into Orlando at 9:20am this FRIDAY....... and I'm just way too excited!!lol

:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Packed, have all the info picked up, have my travellers cheques (including some extra thanks to the great rates!) and I'M READY NOWWWWW

Hope work between now and Wednesday goes fast for me!!

We're having all of my sons and their partners for a traditional turkey (and ham) dinner on Sunday (DH has to work Monday):D

My middle son always laughs and kids me about having to spend the whole day cooking and preparing for "the feast" only to have it all eaten in about 1/2 hour!:teeth: But they love my turkey dinners so that's all that matters.:sunny: Oops....and the pies!!

Also this will be the last holiday that we will be a family of 7 as we'll have a new family member joining us in a few weeks!:bounce: :Pinkbounc

DH and I will also be dining at Ohana's with my family from Scotland for the US Thanksgiving! This will be the second time we've experienced the US holiday as well as ours!:sunny: Although I'm still glad we celebrate our Thanskgving in Oct.!::yes::

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving whatever way you celebrate!:wave2:

Snow:

Yes - Transplanted canuck. Maybe I'll see if my mother will cook a turkey when she visits. I don't cook! :p

Snowark: My parents used to tell us to do the same thing about the ear and the track. I don't remember it ever working:rolleyes:
My sister works at Zehrs in Orillia. She moved up there 4 yrs ago. She's homesick now, but will all be with her at her home for Thanksgiving!

We will be at LTT enjoying a feast that someone else has to cook and clean up:smooth:

Whoo Hooo - We're leaving on Wednesday to head up to Toronto for Canadian Thanksgiving.

It's so much fun to see the looks on people's faces when I say, we're going to Canada for Thanksgiving ;)

I've had a few ask if it's the same, and do we have turkey.......

The only thing is that we are still wearing shorts and sleeveless here (it's low 80's everyday)
I see it's in the 50's......yikes! I guess I'll have to get out my coat and jeans.
We're driving up 85/79/77/95 to Buffalo, and probably I-75 on the way back, so if you have any questions I'll try to answer.

See you for pumpkin pie on Monday!

Glad you're coming home, neighbour!!!

Cindy, you and Guy must be SO excited!!! :) :) Do you know what the sex of your grandbaby will be, or is that being kept a secret/surprise?

It's scary isn't it, how quickly all that hard work and preparation is inhaled!!

Okay Stuart, gotcha!! Perhaps it's best you stick to the 'eating' part of your turkey dinner! :p

Cabmom, I don't remember if listening for the trains actually worked, either. I do remember my brothers suggesting that I keep my ear to the track until I could see the train.....up close. :p

BitsnBearsMom, and hockey mom, I hope you both have a wonderful time on your trips to the World! :) No cooking, no cleanup, warm Florida sunshine, sounds good to me!! :sunny:

Have a safe drive, Yzma & Kronk! The foliage colours are still very nice, so that will make it even more enjoyable! :)

Kim

You bet Kim we're really excited as this will be our first Grandchild.:bounce: :Pinkbounc

We know the sex of the baby by about 85% BUT I don't want to jinx anything so I'll tell you what the end result is when the birth happens! lol;)

I've waited a long time to spoil a baby then send him/her back home to their parents! Hee hee!:p

Usually I have had Thanksgiving with my mom and dad. This year my dad will be going up north to where he and my mom used to camp alot. She always wanted her ashes scattered at that beach. My dad wants to do this on on his own, so I will be spending Thanksgiving with my friends in Kemptville. They are like brothers to me and they said if I did not come they would come and drag me there.
