Countdown to the Clown! A September PTR - Updated 9/13 - TR LINK

Oh, what a cute picture of Henry gazing at his postcard!!! I think someone is getting excited about going to see them in person!!!

Okay, I love the teacup ride video!!! Henry is so cute telling you to have a magical day!!! :goodvibes

Oh, I LOVE Henry's teacup clip!:goodvibes Is he a future cast member do you think? He seems to have the phrase "Have a Magical Day" downpat!:thumbsup2 He's a real cutie, I remember when mine were that young. Ok, now I'm weepy because the time has flown so quickly! Enjoy every moment with him. You guys are definitely ready for Disney if you're transforming your furniture into rides from the MK!:lmao: Thanks for posting that clip, it put a smile on my face tonight.:goodvibes

Aww, look at Henry admiring his postcard! So cute. :goodvibes

The MSEP was so cool. I enjoyed being able to see that. Same goes for Captain EO. Though we all thought it was somewhat strange. LOL.

henry is just the cutest kid i've ever seen, and that's coming from someone who doesn't even really like kids! (Ok i'm not going to lie, that motherly instinct has been kicking in over the past few days)

So excited for you! Leaving so soon! I hope you have lots of fun! (Obviously you will)

I love the picture of Henry looking at the postcard! :lovestruc I have to go back and watch the video! Everyone still sleeping and I'm trying to be quiet! :surfweb:

I love this two weeks from today game!:banana::banana:

Isn't it the best? You start single-digit dancing tomorrow too! :yay:

 for 10 days! Wow - that is really soon!

I love all your pictures, but I especially love the one of the Brooklyn Bridge. I absolutely love pictures of bridges. Especially from different angles. They are so cool! Sounds like you had a great weekend.

Henry and the post card...... Awwwwhhhhh! So cute!

I should post some of my other Brooklyn Bridge shots, I love getting it from different angles. I have SO many pictures of it - I can't help but take at least a few each time I walk across.

I'll have to check the link out when I get home.

I received one of those PP cards in the mail too...I really think you shouldn't activate it. I'm worried that you wouldn't be able to add other #'s and that your 30 days would start when you registered it. Plus it's a flimsy card, you want one of the good ones. :rotfl2:

I think I'm going to steal your Two Weeks game and start on Wednesday on my PTR.

I've taken everyone's advice here and NOT activated it...especially in the news that Kristen is going to be the account holder for our share and we have SEVEN people in it now, so it's gonna be under $20 each! :yay:

And yes ::yes:: I do want one of the good ones! :rotfl:

Tomorrow you get to start playing!!!!

Awwww a big  to Melissa for the special delivery!!! How sweet and adorable pictures of Henry with the kaleidscope and the postcard too! :goodvibes
Sounds like you had a fun weekend and Henry had fun playing in the park :)
Enjoy your dinner in the phone booth ;) I love eating there ::yes::
Cute video of the mad tea party :goodvibes

Tracy

I was just in awe of how nice the gifts are for Henry!! He has really enjoyed them all and done his puzzle at least twice everyday since we got it. He'll love the things I stashed quickly away too!

:lmao: The phone booth gets very good reviews! I'm excited about our meal there. Not sure how we'll all fit though. ;)

Don't use that card. It will start your 30 days from what I have read. Also the discounts are no bettr than the pre order price.

Claire and I love the video of the tea cup ride. Henry knows exactly how to load and unload a ride. LOL! He is so cute.

That is so weird that the card starts your 30 days! It says on the paper in VERY fine print that it should start after the first pictures are loaded. But who knows really! I'm tossing it. Somewhere I read about people getting $40 and $50 discounts by using it though!!!

Glad you enjoyed the video! Henry is quite the good ride operator. Stops it quickly and tells you to GET OFF! :rotfl2:

Henry is such a cutie! Love the pic looking at the postcard!
Your Epcot plans sound great! We're looking forward to seeing Captain EO since we haven't seen it since we were there for Epcot's 5th birthday!

He loves to gaze at his "friends" on the fridge. Today again he grabbed it and just stood there and looked at it! It was very sweet.

Did Captain EO go out right around then? My first trip was in 2006, so I only heard of it - I'm VERY excited to get the opportunity to experience some of "old Disney" with Captain EO and the MSEP. I wish they still had the skyway!

I didn't realize you lived in the city! We aren't that far from each other!

I haven't heard about registering a PP card.. I think I would play it safe and not do it. I would just take a picture or write down the numbers on the back incase it is lost.

HURRAY for ALMOST single digits!!!!!! :woohoo::woohoo:

Yep! We are in Queens (Astoria). How far away are you? I know lots of people commute into the City from CT on the Metro North so I'm guessing 2 hours or less? If you are ever here and have some free time, let's meet up! :goodvibes

I decided to take the advice of everyone here and NOT register it. It's in the "Shred" pile.

Hi Brook! We are back and had a super time!!! :cool1: I am so glad Henry got his postcard! Love the picture of him looking at it. :goodvibes
For the most part we followed TouringPlans as far as when to hit different parks and that went really well. I was surprised that we didn't hit crowds. We made a run over to Islands of Adventure to check out Harry Potter... WOW, now that was a crowd! :scared: It was fun to see but I am a true Disney fan so I was very happy to get back to the World! :thumbsup2
We had tea last Sunday when we arrived, so good! It was so sweet, there was a small birthday party for a little girl, she and her friends had been to BBB and were all princesses. princess: Adorable!
Our weather was really good as far as not much rain. We were sprinkled on one time and managed to be eating the 2 times a thunderstorm came thru.
Thought of you guys as we walked around the boardwalk area, I hope you like it as much as we do. I know I want to stay there again someday. :)
Went to a DVC appointment but DH said Noooo :confused3 I will keep working on him. ;) Loved the mockups of AKL and Bay Lake, nice!! :thumbsup2

Welcome back!!!! He LOVES the postcard - and we got the second one in the mail now too! So now he has both of them up on the fridge, pulls them both off and looks first at Pooh, then Mickey, then back to Pooh. :cutie: Thank you again!!!

It sounds like you had a GREAT trip! Glad to hear you avoided crowds (the UG has never failed me there! They are so good!) and the rain! The girls at the tea sound so stinkin' cute. I am certain that birthday party will never be forgotten!

I'm getting so excited about the Boardwalk! The location is just awesome, I think we are going to love it and never want to stay anywhere else.

Keep working on the DH! Resale is an excellent option too - SO MUCH cheaper. When we add on points we'll do resale.

I see your new picture as your avatar - your kids grew a ton!!

Love how close you are getting, can't wait to hear what you think of Boardwalk!!!!

I an planning to head up to NYC in late Sept (a friend just had a baby and I want to visit) and i hae heard about the pizza place at the base of the bridge for years. Might have to finally go. And to Magnolia of course for cupcakes :goodvibes

Looking forward to all the homestretch plans

It is REALLY good pizza! The first time we went was a weekday night and the line was maybe only 10-15 minutes long. This time it was Friday night and much, much longer. Not sure if we just hit it right last time, or if that's the norm.

I have yet to go to Magnolia! The friends visiting have already gone a couple times though. :rotfl: They just rave and rave about it. I want to try the red velvet cake!

If you have time and want to meet up for a quick DIS meet let me know! If you don't have time on the trip, I understand though - NYC sucks time away like none other, plus you have a very important visit! :goodvibes

YOU ARE SOOOOO CLOSE!!!! I know you are beyond excited:cool1: Wish I were going too:cloud9:
I just love your video link:thumbsup2 So cute....I posted a while back that maybe Henry would be a good photopass photographer from all those pictures he took, but now he would obviously make a good ride operator too!! Decisions, decisions! At least he has 2 things to choose from at this point, and no doubt he will show he is a master of more things Disney:thumbsup2

Last night before I closed my eyes I lightly punched Joe in the shoulder and said "I'm so stinkin' excited!" he just laughed. Every night I'm thinking Disney as a I fall asleep. :cloud9:

:lmao: I like the way you think!!! Photopass Photographer or ride operator - I'll take it!

I wouldn't register the PP card until you get back just to be on the safe side. Not to mention, I registered mine in advance and never got a discount email, so it's not guaranteed. From what I understand if you are already planning on doing the pre-order your discount will be about the same anyway. Make sure anyone doing your share doesn't pre-register theirs either or you won't be able to combine them later :thumbsup2

Love the video of the Mad Tea Party, brought a smile to my face :goodvibes

I took everyone's advice here and decided not to register the card. Turns out Kristen in the share already did the pre-purchase, so we are just going to join her account. She didn't do the card, just the normal link - so no cards are yet registered with the account. If what I typed makes any sense... Good call on no one pre-registering cards, I'll send that out in my PM too!

So nice to see that others enjoy Disney World rides in rolling, spinning chairs like we do. Brooklynn and I like to youtube rides, and I will push, pull, and swing her around as we watch. She thinks it's so funny. :goodvibes

It's almost time for single digit dancing! :woohoo:

You guys seem to be really enjoying your new surroundings. How are the folks you left behind making it? Will you be able to have fairly frequent visits by taking turns traveling?

I do that EXACT thing with Henry. The other day we rode Test Track (in the teacups chair). He really enjoyed the bumpy road.

Joe's Mom and Dad are doing okay - I know they really miss Henry (and us, but mostly Henry!). My Mom has an easier time of it because I've lived far away before, and haven't lived very close to her in over 10 years. Joe on the other hand has always lived 30 minutes max away from his parents. My Mom was here for a week already to visit! It was WONDERFUL, and she loved it. She'll be back again sometime. Joe, Henry and I will fly back to Minnesota during Thanksgiving and Christmas, and Easter next year too (I don't even want to THINK about the costs ). I honestly don't think Joe's parents will ever come out here to visit. Which is a bummer. They aren't big travelers and I think it might intimidate them a bit to even entertain the idea of coming here. But who knows, maybe they will surprise me! I hope they do - I'd love for them to visit us. I think my brother and Dad will visit at some point too - my sister if she can afford it. But in general, it's a bit more expected for us to make the journey to see everyone. I just hope we always can...it's a huge expense, we have to rent a car while there too. Plus vacation time for Joe. We'll see how it all unfolds - this year, at least for the upcoming holidays we have it figured out.

YAY for 10 days!!!

What great pictures of the bridge!!!

YAY for more Mickey mail!

Love your two week countdown, soon you'll be saying one week from now YAY!!

I just love the Brooklyn Bridge. I've walked across it many times, but can't help to take pictures every single time! It's such a beautiful piece of architecture.

I can't wait to say "one week!!!!"

I love it! How fun! :thumbsup2 You guys looked like you had a great weekend in the city. And Mickey Mail doesn't hurt either. :wizard:

You are SO CLOSE!! :banana::banana::banana:

We did! It was exhausting and HOT, but fun! It's kinda strange living in a "vacation destination" but really nice too - there is always something to do! And truly, only in New York can you sit in Central Park and watch a girl wearing the gloves from a gorilla costume be chased by a guy with a squirt gun. I haven't a clue what they were doing, but it was hilarious!

Hooray for more Mickey mail. And it looks like you guys had a great weekend at the parks, etc.

I love Mickey Mail! Today we just got bills though. :headache:

Brook! I loved your video on the "teacups" sooooo cute!!!! You are such a good Mom!:lovestruc Henry is getting SO big, it seems like only yesterday he just a baby....they grow up too fast, don't they? He's going to be the PERFECT age this time, he'll just light up! Wish we were there at the same time, Cole and Henry would have so much fun together!!!:goodvibes

ps- will send you a note back about the PP share...sounds great though, just need to break it down! :)

When Henry was a baby we put him in a laundry basket and did "Soarin" with him too. :rotfl: We are such dorks! But he loves it!

I'm so excited to take him on this trip! I think he'll start to remember things from this trip. It would be a blast to meet up with you and let the boys play! I hope our paths cross on a future trip! You ever think about running the Princess 1/2?

I got your PM on the Share, I plan to reply tonight!

Yay for Epcot! I hope Henry makes the cut and loves both rides. I have a feeling he will! I've never eaten in UK. You'll have to let me know what you guys think!

The GF tea seems like such a fun way to spend an afternoon. I think once Aileen is a bit older we will make it a special mommy daughter experience. And MESP! Such an amazing thing! I can't wait to see that!

I really hope he makes the cut too. So far without shoes he's still at 39". I told him today "An inch in 9 days, you can do it!" :rotfl2:

I'm excited about our meal at Rose & Crown! It always looks so yummy.

Oooh, the tea with Aileen would be so much fun! I'm completely satisfied with having one child, but to have a little girl in Disney...:cloud9: The BBB, the tea, the Princess meals! Ahhhhh, so fun!

Hooray for almost single digits!! :dance3:

LOVED your video of the teacups ride! Henry is so gosh darn cute! I love hearing his little voice, he and David sound so much alike! :goodvibes

Beautiful pictures of the Brooklyn Bridge! You are so lucky to live near such amazing places.

I hope Henry is tall enough to ride Soarin and Test Track! He will have so much fun! :yay:

He loves doing the teacups now in my chair! I've had to spin him several times since. :rotfl: I bet I know what he'll want to ride as soon as he sees it...:rolleyes1 ;)

Sometimes I still find myself a bit in awe that we live here. We live in a place that people vacation to. It's strange...but very, very cool! There is so much to do, so many opportunities!

I really hope Henry makes the cut! If not this trip though, next one he will I'm sure!

Oh, what a cute picture of Henry gazing at his postcard!!! I think someone is getting excited about going to see them in person!!!

Okay, I love the teacup ride video!!! Henry is so cute telling you to have a magical day!!! :goodvibes

I think meeting the characters will be extra magical for him this trip. Kinda like when he saw McQueen last year. :rotfl: He'll be star-struck! He wants to meet EVERYONE, we'll see how many rides we actually get to!

He really has a good time on the teacup chair - especially when it's his turn! ;) "Get off Mommy, have a magical day."

I would love for him to be a future CM! That would mean discounts for Mommy! :lmao:

I'm trying to think of what else we could do with our furniture...perhaps the couch could be a safari truck???

Time does fly by so quickly. It's hard to believe he will be THREE in a week!

Aww, look at Henry admiring his postcard! So cute. :goodvibes

The MSEP was so cool. I enjoyed being able to see that. Same goes for Captain EO. Though we all thought it was somewhat strange. LOL.

I'm so looking forward to hearing the MSEP music! From the bits I have allowed myself to listen to I just LOVE it. Joe has resisted completely, I think he's gonna really like it too.

Captain EO does sound a bit strange, but kinda cool too. I'm excited to get a taste of "old Disney"

henry is just the cutest kid i've ever seen, and that's coming from someone who doesn't even really like kids! (Ok i'm not going to lie, that motherly instinct has been kicking in over the past few days)

So excited for you! Leaving so soon! I hope you have lots of fun! (Obviously you will)

:rotfl2: You are too funny! I've always liked kids, but certainly was NOT ready when I got pregnant, but it all changes when its your kid. It really does!! Take your time though, seriously. Enjoy every moment without kids - your life changes 100% with them - all for good - but completely changes!

I'm so so excited for our trip!!! I can't believe it's so close. I feel like i should be rushing around the house, but I can't think of a thing we need to do other than pack and clean and leave! :dance3:

I love the picture of Henry looking at the postcard! :lovestruc I have to go back and watch the video! Everyone still sleeping and I'm trying to be quiet! :surfweb:

:rotfl: I've done that exact thing with the videos! I never want Henry to hear anything from Disney knowing if he's even slightly awake he'll be out to see what it's all about in 0.8 seconds flat.

Have a magical day! ~ The cutest!:lmao:

I think he is a future CM, don't you???! ;)

Oh my goodness! I just watched the video! Too cute!

We are just goofy aren't we? Cracked! But we have fun!

What cute pictures of Henry looking at his new goodies and post card! How sweet of everyone to send you those things.

Glad you had fun with your friends.

Today we are...

SINGLE DIGIT DANCING!!!!

 Dance, dance, dance!

Take a look at this teeny little chain!

981599829_KcWbD-M.jpg

The tongue is out, we are doing serious business here people!

981599827_vFpv3-M.jpg

Success! And now the chain is even shorter! :woohoo:

And two awesome weeks from today we'll be...

Here
561023417_iWR6Z-M.jpg

We are thinking Henry will want his own gun this time, making either Joe or I sit out (letting him sit on our laps -since I don't think he'll be tall enough otherwise to reach), so we are hoping for two rides on
560973349_5YTJt-M.jpg

We cannot miss this
561026400_xJnRX-M.jpg

Or this!
759505877_TDFfs-M.jpg

And since the refurb starts the next day, I'll be camera happy in here
561025857_V6aXv-M.jpg

We always have a great time in their gift shop, I hope that doesn't change! There is a ton of crazy stuff in there including...
561026927_NDVjs-M.jpg

All that and MORE in just two weeks!!!

And guess what?

We got MORE Mickey Mail!

disneydusted had sent on a second postcard :wizard: This one with Pooh & the gang in front of "Mickey's House" (the castle...shhhh! ;)) It now has a home right next to Mickey & Minnie on the fridge and both are stared at nearly every time Henry enters or leaves the kitchen!

He was NOT in a picture mood, so this is the best I could get!
981599798_MQYoo-M.jpg

Thank you once again!!!

The "To Do" list got an item knocked off tonight - a brand new bottle of sunscreen is sitting on my desk. :thumbsup2 We also got our Disney Rewards card in the mail, loaded with just over $70 on it. I ordered a $25 Visa Gift Card from MyPoints that I'm hoping comes in time too.

Tomorrow marks 8 days.

Then ONE WEEK and the suitcase is coming out! :dance3:

I get so excited for you when I see you are getting closer! Henry is such a cutie! I am curious about his height. I am hoping Gavin is tall enough to use the gun in TSM. Please keep me posted as to what you find...and what he height is.

Yep! We are in Queens (Astoria). How far away are you? I know lots of people commute into the City from CT on the Metro North so I'm guessing 2 hours or less? If you are ever here and have some free time, let's meet up! :goodvibes
We are near Waterbury... takes me 1h15min to get to Yankee Stadium 1h25min to get to Times Square. So I guess you can say 1.5hours give or take. :goodvibes

I decided to take the advice of everyone here and NOT register it. It's in the "Shred" pile.
Great idea!

You DHS day looks like ours.... Playhouse Disney, TSM, playground. Very fun!

We have the same 'Fridge DJ'!!!!!! :rolleyes1:rolleyes1

My son was tall enough when he was 2 and a half for his own gun on TSM. And I think he was around 38 inches. And I know he was just shy of 40 inches when we went for his 3rd birthday and he used his own gun. So I'm sure Henry will be tall enough. My husband usually rides with him, which leaves me to ride by myself in the same car. I always wondered what was going on in the car, because I would hear all these sounds and never remembered to has my DH. Well finally my DS picked me to ride with him and I found the sounds was him kicking his feet, twisting his body and probably using every muscle in his body to make that gun go faster and faster. It was so cute.

Yeah for single digits. I'm getting so jealous, but also can't wait for you to get there, so that you can get back and tell us all about your trip.

Maybe Henry will be tall enough for Star Tours, so that he will get to experience it before and after.

I will tell you that they can run Star Tours with no movement, when there is limited lines they will do this. They did that for my DS when he was 18 months and we were doing a child swap. I knew nothing about it, and they offered it. My DS loved it. It was pretty cool. So if Henry isn't tall enough and there are very few people in line, maybe you can ask the CM about that.

Now you do know about the dance party that occurs at Playhouse Disney on nights of EMH? Right? I mean as far as I know they are still doing them. We did it last November and my DS loved it.

Now you do know about the dance party that occurs at Playhouse Disney on nights of EMH? Right? I mean as far as I know they are still doing them. We did it last November and my DS loved it.

Curious about this! Where is it and who was there???

I finally have some time for posting again! And you are off so soon! I love it that Henry is so in awe over his postcards. I really hope he will be able to remember parts of that trip! :goodvibes And I am sure he will be able to grow one inch in 9 days!! Have you started to practice being measured with him?;)

I read your comments about travelling back to Minnesota and I hope you will be able to find a way to make this work for you and your families. I was wondering - would it help if just you and Henry went there for a time when it isn't peak travel season? You would be able to stay longer and prices would most likely be cheaper?
