Countdown to August 2011 (tr link posted)

Congratulations, Debby!!! That is so fantastic! What a great honor!!! :goodvibes

Thank you. :flower3:

Wow my 'very blessed life' wish for Shaquonemo was short-lived. I guess he was loved while he was here, though, right? Poor guy!

Every time I get put on the Teacher of the Year nomination list, I kindly ask them to take my name off. If they would just quietly send me a check to use in my classroom, I would love it, but it involves a banquet and a trip out with the principal on the General Jackson boat, and I'm just not into that kind of thing for myself. (I turn a thousand shades of red any time I am the center of any attention.) I love it for others, though!

Many congratulations to you for your good work. It is an honor and a big responsibility to have so much influence on kids. I know you have some of the best ones, too.

I hope that 'Ohana ADR comes open for you. :thumbsup2

We don't get to say if we are on the list or not, but our limelight isn't as big as yours either...It is an announcement at the senior awards banquet and my name going on a plaque with all of the honor society members of the year. Plus an engraved clock and pen... I would have loved to just get my name on the wall without the walking on stage, but no one would have agreed to that...;)

You are a wonderful teacher who deserves to be recognized, but since the Dissers can hardly get you in a picture... :rotfl2:

I am so happy for you! What an amazing honor! I love that you posted the ugly cry picture...lord know we all have those...:lmao: and your friends on here know how beautiful you are!:grouphug:

You have to post that quote on your FB page....love it!

Thank you!

Ok, a brief synopsis.....we are flying instead of driving this year :yay: and have a flight on SW that leaves at 10:30am.....I would rather get there early, but this flight was cheaper, and we won't have to get up at 3am.....We arrive on July 12th at the BWI. I was lucky enough to get a free dining PIN, so we have dining this year (the bad news is it is a package with tickets, but we will be upgrading to APs when we get there). Actually, since the package is paid, we got the tickets under the old price, but when we upgrade we will get credit under the new price, so I think it is all good even though the prices are all up. We are trying some new restaurants - Hoop de Doo, Yachtsman, Narcoosees, Ohana, Via Napoli, and Akershus......and some old favorites, Garden Grill, Chef Mickey, CRT......we have one TS left and we are going to pick something "last minute". I did not want to be tied to Dining, so we did several 2TS. The only issue is DH's mobility.....he had knee surgery with complications in April, and then had a neuroma on his foot excised last week. He may need a wheelchair but we still have 30 days to go. We are there for 2 weeks, all at one resort - which will be different since we usually swap halfway through. Hope that wasn't too long.........

Not too long at all! I love Boardwalk, and I think it will really feel like a nice vacation by staying put. Last summer, we looked into wheelchairs for my dad for the beach and ended up going with an ecv. It was such a better option. Something to consider for your dh especially with the heat. The nice thing about the ecv was my dad had total control. (He wouldn't have been strong enough to wheel himslef the whole time, and we would have annoyed one another with someone else pushing him.)

I think the 2TS options are fantastic for your stay. I think it is hard to keep up with Disney Dining...so much food, then add the heat! I can't wait to hear about them especially Yachtsman.

Our flight is 8:00. I would have loved the 5:45AM flight, but I didn't want to trouble my FIL to have to get up so early to get us to the airport. As it is, we will leave our house about 6AM to arrive at his about 6:30 (he lives 15 min from airport)...I can only imagine if I had choosen the earlier one. :scared1:

I love the Boardwalk too - this is our second stay there. The only downside is the lack of counter service for breakfast - one reason we like the value resorts - or having a car, we would have driven over to Pop a few times for the chocolate chip pancakes.....

DH is worried about someone pushing him in a wheelchair. We are going to take all the phone numbers for rental places and see how it goes, at least that is the plan at this point. We will see how he feels in a couple weeks.

My one hesitation about the dining plan is the amount of food - but this gives us the chance to try a lot of new places!

I would have liked the 7am flight, but the trade off is a little extra sleep, so we won't be exhausted on day one. We are there for 14 days so it will be fine. Plus, we are taking a late flight home, so we can still go to the parks on our last day. This is new for us. DH usually likes to take the first flight of the day (we have had to catch the DME bus as early as 4-5am - yuck!). This year we will not have to be on the DME bus until 6:30 pm!

Congrats on the award!! Great job!

As you prob saw on my other report, we didn't really care for BWV. MUCh too long of a walk...We had a stroller so couldn't take the short cut at the end since there aren't multiple elevators like at Beach Club or Kidani or close like SSR or BLT. It just became cumbersome for us...and we felt like it was 10 minutes wasted each time (so nearly an hour each day just walking to/from our car and room).

Also, we didn't have a great view either.

We did enjoy walking around the boardwalk at night and the convenience of walking into Epcot or over to Swan/Dolphin.

My DH and I agreed that we will definitely do BWV again, upgrade to the Boardwalk view ...but wait until we don't need to use a stroller anymore.

I hope you enjoy it! And that's the cool thing about DVC -- something for everyone.

I truly thought I would hate SSR (and ended up liking it) and didn't think anything could be better than Beach Club -- and now BLT and Kidani are in a distant first place for us! (Still need to try OKW).

I think we lucked out for our visit to BWV- Boardwalk view - 1st floor! The hallway was long, but it didn't bother us...of course, we have older ones.

We still have to try SSR; I love Jambo, and am not sure I'd want to give it up for Kidani... BCV is nice. I keep calling to see if I can move part of our ressie there, but I worry that I like Jambo better!

Cogratulations!! That is awesome news and a great way to end the school year!

Thank you - it was very exciting and appreciated! :flower3:

Congratulations!!! How wonderful!!!!
:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you! At graduation, some of the kids were congratulating me. I was like no, congratulations to YOU!!! :upsidedow

I have some eye candy for those of you arriving home, those leaving soon, those of you with a bit of a wait and those of you without a date...

I've been playing with my pictures- anything to help me daydream of Disney!!

Some of you have seen them, but I think you'll enjoy them again anyway!

Have a great week! Today was the students' last day. I have two more half days to go...

We love Jambo, too! I'm just completely thrilled to own DVC so we can actually have these "dilemmas" -- hmmm, this wonderful resort or that terrific resort?:rotfl2::thumbsup2

Awesome photos!! You did a great job. Love the water one at the top with the palm trees.

Although I think I have seen the pics before I loved getting to view them again! Can't wait to see the castle for the first time!! :cloud9:

Beautiful, Debby!!! Definitely makes me "homesick." :goodvibes

Sorry- but good memories right? and a Disney visit in the horizon? I have to hop over to your PTR!

They are all great, but I especially like this one. I love riding in the boat past this row of palm trees on our way to Wilderness Lodge.

I just noticed it the one morning and snapped it. I don't know WL well. Dh and I are not too keen on staying there because when we are in Florida we want to feel like Florida... We don't live in a rural woodsy area of PA, but we do have pines... We would like to try it and thought someday if we do a Christmas trip; it would be more like home. Christmas is FL is still an odd idea to me.

I did hear a great podcast about the resort and the story of the pool. The backstory for the theming is amazing!

Beautiful pictures!!! Makes me very "homesick"!!!

Thanks!! Not too long till you will be home!

We feel the same way about DVC. I know there is always another trip, but I worry about missing one resort while at another. ;)

I hope the moment you see the castle is more than everything you think it will be! :flower3::hug::love:

It is summer at our house!

The girls at the bus stop on their last day: Thurs.

i-8jzQ2rz-L.jpg

We have a couple of weeks of lounging at the pool before our beach week. We are heading for an overnight trip with my friend and her daughter next weekend though.

I have been checking Ohana each day, and I was able to secure a ressie! It wasn't for the ideal day I wanted it, but I made it work. I had to give up Via Napoli. My kids really want both Ohana and Garden Grill, so...

I was working on our daily itineraries, and I looked on Southwest's site to see our arrival time. I noticed that the airfare has increased nearly $100 (x4 :scared1:). I was a very happy camper that I booked it when I did.

I was able to sketch out day 1; so I will be back sometime in the next day or two to post our plans!

As I type I am watching a Star Wars marathon on Spike TV. We are on Episode II. I will be DVRing the other four to rewatch later!

Cute picture!! Glad to hear you got Ohana! We are doing Via Napoli & Garden Grill this trip too. SWs fares did go up by a lot! I booked at $84 each way so I feel very lucky!

Hurray for being finished with school! I bet everyone is super happy about that at your house! :thumbsup2

Sounds like your summer is off to a great start with pool time, marathons of Star Wars, and a beach trip coming soon! :goodvibes

So glad you finally got Ohana's! :woohoo:

I love all of the pictures!! And congratulations on getting 'Ohana! We have gone there every trip for the last few years because we love it so much! I bet your girls are glad to be finished the school year, and you are all that much closer to your trip now!

:woohoo: for you O'Hana's ressie! You'll just have to do Via Napoli on your next trip:rolleyes1

I feel the same way you do about flights, so happy we booked when we did! Sounds like a great start to your summer!

$84 dollars each way? WOW! I was excited by the $115 and I think $134...we also had a credit which helped a bit...

It is wonderful not having the nagging feeling of having to grade papers or plan! The girls are happy to be able to spend as much time outside as possible with friends.

Thanks! :goodvibes We didn't eat 'Ohana last trip (only ate counter for the long weekend). I don't know why my girls want to eat there so badly though...they now say they like the food, but I think I got them chix fingers everytime we've been there?? They didn't love the activities last time, but maybe since they've done them they will be more involved this time.

I might still get Via Napoli in this trip...still working on it... I know that we won't be able to do the dining plan much longer bc the girls will be 10 and it won't be worth the value it is now. I am trying to fit in the buffets to this trip. The standard price per adult will place us out for future trips except for the occasional buffet. $33 x 4= plus tip $187 for dinner with two little ones...:scared1: I always did like Captain Cook's! :rotfl2:

I know you felt good that you had already booked! :thumbsup2

Glad you got that 'Ohana meal.

Rnjoy the lounging and the beach and the friends. :goodvibes
