Countdown to August 2011 (tr link posted)

What a great night!!!

I ate popcorn when I had braces..shh don't tell haha. The candy is great option though! I bought Tangled on Tues and watched it after work! I was going to show it to the kids on Wed, went to put it in, and noticed it was rated PG (We can only show G at the center) After calming down a crying child..yes way to go Ms. Megan for making promises and not check ratings, we put Hercules in instead which they seemed to enjoy.

I love the glasses! My mom bought me the party mickey head bowls for my birthday! I got a ton of mickey glasswear for Xmas which is packed away now!

It is really hard for kids when you change plans!! I haven't seen Hercules. Hmmm maybe this weekend I can rent it...

Well actually my younger sister is also nine! :goodvibes She'll be turning ten in mid-May though and she just can't wait to be "double digits." :cheer2: So I will more than likely have comments!

By the way, your girls look super cute with braces! They can be hard to pull off sometimes but they look really good on them! :thumbsup2

I soo wish I was in your class! I'm so jealous I wish my teachers would get it when I do stuff like that! But they don't...:sad2: But they all know I'm Disney-obsessed because I go to a private school and whenever we have "dress down days" I ALWAYS wear a different Disney shirt or sweatshirt, and I tend to make random connections to Disney in almost all of my classes...they all just roll their eyes usually...:upsidedow But one teacher who teaches 9th grade Global is a HUGEE Disney fanatic, and Jess and I always talk to him about it. He even gave me his lanyard with all his pins today and explained each of them and their significance and told me to go find Jess and show her it. :lovestruc He is SO precious. :) He even sang "Lida Rose" from "The Music Man" with the Dapper Dans on Main Street this past August, which basically completed his life. So some people do understand at my school, and I've been noticing more and more Disney paraphenalia being worn on dress down days lately...so it IS catching on!! :woohoo: But enough of my tangents. :rotfl:

By the way, what are your dates for August?? Probably right in between my July and August trips. :headache:

I am glad that you have a teacher who gets it so your school day has a bit of Pixie Dust. Sadly, not many of my students get it because they haven't been to Disney. I look forward to hearing opinions since your sister is nine. (Is she in third or fourth grade? Did she read the Kingdom Keeper books?)

Your Tangled night looks like a lot of fun! I think a copy of the movie will find its way into the Easter baskets this year.

I have one of those glasses from Target! One of my parents gave it to me filled with candy! It makes me smile every time I see it. :goodvibes

Our soccer season ended on Wednesday. I am kind of glad it is over -- I am exhausted.

Don't you love movies and books in the Easter baskets? :cutie:

Great idea - about the candy in the glass- I'll have to remember that!

Congrats on finishing the season! I can only imagine the exhaustion. I gave my extracurricular club to a new teacher. I couldn't manage them, school and home now that my girls are getting older.

I'm here to count along with you, now going back to read up.

:dance3: Happy you are here!

Yay on getting Tangled and them glasses at a bargain price! :thumbsup2

Thanks!!!

I have no clue where I followed from, but I'm looking forward to hearing about your trip!

Your Tangled movie night looks fun! I should start making my family do theme nights, even if we are all about 18. :rotfl: They have to go along with my Disney obsession sometimes.

Also, your Disney music Friday is so fun! I will have to borrow that idea for my future classroom! If you have any other hidden Disney trick for your class, you'll have to let me know! :thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more!

:cheer2: Welcome - from wherever! :lmao:

I think so many Disney movies are great for all ages, and hey throw in Pizza and candy- who cares how old you are!

Disney tricks...hmmm...are you el -d or secondary? Anita on the Dis has an amazing el-ed Disney classroom and unbelievable ideas. I will have to post a link to her old tr. I will get that posted in the near future.

I came on over! Love the countdown.

:woohoo: Thanks for joining. I will have to get busy this weekend posting more on one of the numbers!

So am I. :goodvibes He loves Disney so much! It's always nice to have someone who "gets it." I'm sorry that not many of your students get it. :(

My sister is in fourth grade. :) She hasn't read the Kingdom Keeper books, but I've heard of them. She's curious now. :lmao: She would like to know what they are about and where can you get them please.

I don't know how I missed your Tangled night:confused3 Anyhoodle...love the glasses!! The girls are as cute as ever and I'm sure they enjoyed the movie as much as Jasmine did. I have yet to see it...maybe this weekend.

Have a great one my friend!

It has been a very busy week: soccer, gymnastics, homework...oh wait,
that would be the nine year olds' schedule.

Sunday's soccer game was exciting. The Tidalwaves won 2-1 over the Shamrocks
due to goals from Emma and Hannah Herman! :cool1:
I did manage to see both goals, but I was quite occupied holding
my nephew and chatting with my SIL. :rolleyes1

We had another Disney movie night...this time we ate

If not, here is another hint from a different version!!

Yep, you guessed it.

It was a really good movie! At first I had a hard time with Nicholas Cage (really he is Ben Gates) but I overcame it. It revealed that I need to build some background for my daughters about King Arthur. Then, the Sword in the Stone at the park will have meaning.

Oh, you are going to LOVE it! Be sure to have tissues, though!

Hello! Your girls are adorable. Your tangled night looked cute, loved the glasses too.

Thank you and welcome!!:flower3:

Sounds like you had a fun night!! My brother loved The Sorcerer's Apprentice. :thumbsup2 I've seen parts of it, and I liked what I saw! I'll have to watch the whole thing someday...

That's another movie we haven't seen yet....it's supposed to rain all weekend here...maybe I can talk Jasmine into a movie night tomorrow:confused3

Yum! Gotta love having nachos for dinner!

We really enjoyed The Sorcerer's Apprentice when we watched it! Great family movie!

Hurray for your daughters both scoring goals! That's awesome!

I've never seen that movie..Is it good? We have it down in the basement but I've just never sat and watched it. I guess I'll have 2 weeks coming up to catch up after my surgery haha.

Those nachos look delish - can't wait to try some! :thumbsup2

I am another one in the 'haven't seen The Sorcerer's Apprentice movie'! I need to catch up on a few but no one else shares my Disney movie enthusiasm so it'll end up being a movie night for one! :lmao:

Nachos and a Disney movie - Perfect!!! I can't wait until our schedule slows down a bit so we can enjoy some couch time :rotfl2:

That's so awesome that the girls both scored goals! Good for them! :cheer2:

Any new pics of the baby?

Nachos are yummy! We haven't seen Sorcerers Apprentice yet either. Did the girls enjoy it?

Hi everyone - sorry for my absence! It has been a busy week and a half. Dh took our girls to the Phillies's Game tonight, so I have Dis time!! (and time to watch last week's episode of The Good Wife.

That's another movie we haven't seen yet....it's supposed to rain all weekend here...maybe I can talk Jasmine into a movie night tomorrow:confused3

I am so behind! I have no idea how your trip planning is going. After I post, I will be busy reading. I hope you are well!

Sounds like you had a fun night!! My brother loved The Sorcerer's Apprentice. :thumbsup2 I've seen parts of it, and I liked what I saw! I'll have to watch the whole thing someday...

I highly recommend that you pick a night and watch it!

Thanks! Friday, dh texted me to see what movie we had scheduled for the night...unfortunately, the girls acted badly and lost movie night... I planned for dh and I to watch Tron, but we didn't...:confused3

I've never seen that movie..Is it good? We have it down in the basement but I've just never sat and watched it. I guess I'll have 2 weeks coming up to catch up after my surgery haha.

The movie is wonderful! I am behind on your trip report; good luck with your surgery. You most certainly should watch The Sourcer's Apprentice!

Those nachos look delish - can't wait to try some! :thumbsup2

Nothing wrong with curling up with a good movie alone!!

Thanks! They are having fun playing! Yes, I do have new pics; I will post some soon! =)

Nachos are yummy! We haven't seen Sorcerers Apprentice yet either. Did the girls enjoy it?

The girls watched it at least three times in the 24 hours we rented it. So, I think they did!

So, here is a life update:

My girls played a second soccer game. Hannah scored 2 and Emma 1; we had rain on Sunday, so no game.

Maybe after Hannah's first goal... (The other two girls in red are two of her closest friends!!! Thank goodness she didn't mind playing hard to beat their team!)

Spent time with dn (2 months) on Sat by having lunch at Reading Terminal Market. We travelled into the city without a touring plan. UGH! It was a rainy miserable day! We ended up only going to lunch only. I promised the girls we would return to the city to go to the Franklin Institute or the Art Museum later in the week. I will have a plan!

Went to a school union meeting to discuss the impact Governor Corbett's proposed cuts will have on our district and how we can do our part... Well, if his ONE BILLION dollar educational cuts take place, our district needs to find...drumroll....11 million dollars. No, you read that correctly. HOLY @#$% was what I text my dh during the meeting after hearing what that might mean to us as teachers..., but if we don't take a pay freeze, we are looking at 60 furloughed teachers. not sure a line here for appropriate sharing so I'll stop there. (I am on board with pay freeze, and personally I'd be thrilled with a tax increase to help ensure my daughters (different district - only need to find 2.4 million) have normal sized classes for fourth grade next year.

Rant over... :scared1:

We attended a Wilmington Blue Rocks Baseball Game (Delaware Minor League) with free tickets from our elementary school for reading ten books. We have excitedly done this since kindergarten! Dh is from Wilmington, so we are fans of the Blue Rocks!

Wow- we have been busy! hehe

So, let me also share my little Disney things from the past week:

Shopped at Target and bought:

I will have to pick up Mickey when we run out of soap in another bath...

Also, my dd dropped my Mickey watch and it broke. I asked dh to pick up this one from Sears (and also a replacement for the broken one, but they only had this one.)

04413933000

It was only $16! I was a bit disappointed by the band... it is kind of foam like?? I guess it is neoprene, but a bit weird. I am getting used to it, but it isn't quite as professional with my Ann Taylor Loft gear for school. (The other had a white leather band..)

I need to work on some dining plans soon. Not to worry, I do have reservations, but I want rethink some maybe...

I'm here! I loved your top 10 in your introduction.
The movie nights that you're doing are great! What a great deal on those clearanced Mickey glasses.
The Minnie Mouse hand wash is so cute. I wonder if my Target has those? I'll have to look next time that I'm there.
Congrats to Hannah & Emma winning their game & scoring goals!!!!

I LOVE THE SOAP!!!!!!

I tried to have my mom look for it at Target yesterday but she couldn't find it. Is with the other hand soaps? I think ours are located near the Heath/Beauty section. She said they had bottles with that brand but not one with Minnie ears! Maybe we're just behind in getting items in but I hope not!!!!

I have a Mickey watch too! I have the $30 one that they sell at WDW. It has a thin black band and is silver and I love it! I think I'm on my 2nd one now because I wear it so often that it gets all scratched up! You might want to consider one of those next time your at WDW because they hold up pretty well. I had a similar Tinkerbell one that I would wear when working at BBB and if it weren't for all the hair products and pixie dust covering it, I'd probably still have it!
