Countdown to August 2011 (tr link posted)

Aaw you are such a great friend. That book looks awesome - yay on helping your friend plan her trip to Disney World! :cheer2: Have you ever considered becoming a Disney Travel Agent? I have read about it on a few TRs on these boards and it sounds like a great thing to do in spare time - though I am guessing you have your hands full with teaching and family life! By the way have never asked, what subject do you teach? Sorry, if you have already mentioned it.

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to be using some ideas from your book to help start building stuff in my folder - it is still empty!! If only you didn't live so far away...:rotfl:

No problem- you can supply your metacognition...(sorry, teacher in me couldn't resist...:rotfl2:) But seriously, you can discuss if any of the restaurants were on your options list and how/why you decided to make an ADR there or not. I can use a refresher on your choices anyway! :yay:

:rotfl2: at the teacher in you - it's funny how it always sticks, even when you are not in school! I would love to discuss the options list and if it made our ADR list or not as well as the reasons. Tony's Town Square did not make the list. The main reason was because Zaheer is fussy and did not like the sound of anything on that menu!

Wanna make a tour book for me??? :rotfl: It's seriously awesome! You are a good friend!!!

Amanda

Sorry I have been out for a while - been knee-deep working on my masters.

Love love LOVE the book you made for your friend!!!! AWESOME!!

Can't wait to work on my stuff - but it will have to wait until school's out - not much time now.

I've missed you (and was a little worried!) Thanks for checking in. Good luck on the masters- so glad I did that before kids!

Check in when you can. I hope the weather hasn't been too awful in your area.

Wow!!! That is good planning!!!!!! You should make and sell those :) I think that's a great tool for first timers or those who don't go as often...after that I think you tend to know your plan of attack but those were some great tips including the fast pass one!!!

Great Friend!!!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

That tour book looks great!

Thank you! :flower3:

Maybe when I retire (in about 15 years) I will do something Disney related. For now, I just don't have the time. (But you wouldn't know it considering the time I've been logging in on the Dis lately. :rotfl2: I teach students. :lmao: just kidding- English - 11th grade, "high section" and "middle section" depends on the year, AP English Lang and Comp (every year), and Pre-AP 10th grade (last year and next year- only one section this year). Gosh, aren't you glad you asked?

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to be using some ideas from your book to help start building stuff in my folder - it is still empty!! If only you didn't live so far away...:rotfl:

Go for it! If I can email you anything to make it easier, let me know! You can pm me.

I think Zaheer is a smart man! We look at menus too to help us decide. I will reveal soon why it is on our list.

I'd be happy too, but I think you know your way around!! :thumbsup2 and thanks...:flower3:

Great job Debby...those cards will save them a ton of time!! I did that for a girl I used to work with and she told me the whole time they were there her hubby kept saying' think how much time we would have wasted without these instructions....I laughed because they thought I was doing them a favor....little do they know it helps with our obessions right?:lmao:

Awwww... you were worried about lil' ol' me? :lovestruc

We did pretty well as far as the weather is concerned. Hail, LOUD thunder, crazy lightning, and some pretty hairy winds. Taking my car in next week - $3400 of hail damage :scared1: and we will be getting a new roof on the house . But, nothing major. ;) Really, I say that with a wink, but we didn't have a tornado and I think our highest winds got up to maybe 50 or so. And we only lost power for like 5 minutes. I'm actually from Arkansas so have been spending a lot of time checking on my home-peeps. All are well that I know of. One of my high school friends is in Alabama. They lost power and had a little damage, but came out really well considering.

I grew up out there with tornadoes, but NOTHING like what they just went through. They got pounded.:headache:

Did you guys have any of these storms up there?

Oops, didn't mean to jump ahead on the restaurants. :rotfl:

We actually did eat at Tony's in 2004, but it was for a Grand Gathering breakfast. We have never eaten there for lunch or dinner -- I really am not a big fan of eating pasta out and about. Even when we eat at Tutto Italia's, I am always feel so full afterwards.

Love the planning book! What a great idea!!!

I keep telling my girlfriend that I should thank her; I quite enjoy doing it!

I am glad you are okay, but sorry about the need for car repair and new roof! I have some family in Mississippi and Alabama. I was a little worried about my Great, Great Aunt in Alabama, but my mom talked to her and she was fine. Of course, I had to log in and check on Dis friends too. I certainly get help on geography on the dis; I am rather limited in that area. Whereas, dh has a geography degree. :rotfl:

All is forgiven. :rotfl2: Did you have a minute of remembering your Grand Gathering? I'd love to see a pics of it. I didn't think about how we get to relive those meals when someone asks us about them...

I'll talk about my thoughts on Tony's soon. :goodvibes

This post is going to be a hodge podge...a mix of Disney and life...

First, I want to share the souvenier one of my students gave me. Twenty-five of our students went to France over Spring Break. Maybe ten of them were from my AP 11 class. One student, Lindsay, was in my 10th grade pre-AP, and is in my homeroom. She gave me this post card. It is from the catacombs of Paris... It is a bit freaky looking. haha.

Also, in a class discussion about Catcher in the Rye, a student said Holden doesn't want to grow up like Peter Pan. I usually interject "It always goes back to Disney" because this has happened in several of our discussions...but the conversation got serious and I couldn't throw it in...

I think I mentioned that over the past couple of weeks, I have been trying to make my living room spring like. Also, Memom put in my head to decorate like a Disney resort.

I redid our mantle with these pics, candle holder, and picked up the birds. Dh asked if they were Cinderella's birds. (It didn't even occur to me. I do love my dh!)

Here are a couple of other accessories (new and old) in the room:

Our tigerwood hardwood floor (with a liter and half soda on it from Thursday...it was a convenient picture to post)

So, does my room seem inspired by any specific resort or do you think it is a mix?

Last bit for the day...girls had a sleepover last night so dh and I went to Wegmans' Pub (Wegmans is a supermarket). It was an interesting experience to sit in a supermarket/ restaurant...)

Dh's view to right:

My view to left:

Both of our view the other way (The restaurant):

We then looked in the beer section (Wegmans was the first non-liquor store to carry alcohol in our area) and they have a vast selection:

I started singing in my head of course, okay maybe not...it is so catchy... (Do you get the Disney connection?)

Have a great weekend! We have two soccer games and a birthday dinner for SIL, and both brothers.

I love what you've done! I love the birds and I love that pillow! The pictures above the mantle are gorgeous!!

Hope you have a great weekend!

I loved Wegman's when I lived in Baltimore.
Your living room looks great!
Enjoy your weekend!

Amanda

I love that your students relate everything to Disney. I normally get football/TV programmes!

I also love the living room makeover! My favourites are the birds and the cushions - it makes the room look summery :thumbsup2

Hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend.

What a great pillow! That's one of those things you can work the whole room around with all of its awesome colors. :thumbsup2

Yes, we have lots of pictures from Tony's -- one of my favorites is Chip (or Dale) trying to put on Chelsea's coat! :lmao:

Love your new living room accents! So pretty! That pillow is fabulous!

Did you ever figure out how to get the coke up? Such a shame that it was spilled on your hardwoods. :sad2:

Thank you; I still need a pic for over the sofa. Then, I will show pictures.

Thank you! We don't do weekly shopping at Wegman's; it's just too big!

Thanks, the rug should be here soon and that will help lighten the room too.

Thanks, that's what I figured, but it is about the pool blue for me. When I bought the new sofas, I simply wanted ones that I could put pool blue pillows on. I know the salespeople thought I was crazy. :rotfl2:

Did you ever figure out how to get the coke up? Such a shame that it was spilled on your hardwoods. :sad2:

I hope you post that picture! Thanks. :goodvibes I will have finished pics when I get there.

I've cleaned it with Bona, steamed it twice, used Bruce hardwood cleaner, vinegar and water...it is less sticky, so I am getting closer.

Soccer Game yesterday 4 to 0. Hannah scored 3. They have one today against their teammates from last year (their team was 1st last year- for some reason, the person assigning teams creates new ones by only changing about 3 girls...)

I think they have some awesome players on this year's team who will help for them to make it to the finals...

It should be an exciting game.

I cannot believe I just found your trip report!! Do not know how I got lost. Anyway, I am all caught up and can't wait to read more. We are staying at the Boardwalk this summer too - lucked out and got free dining for July!! We are also flying this trip - DH had knee surgery with some complications so the recovery has been rough. Needless to say 16 hours of driving was a little worrisome, and luckily, Southwest had a great sale.....now I have to remember how to pack for a plane instead of the car.

Yay on the 3 goals!!! :cheer2: What a great achievement!

Hope the second game goes well and the team makes the finals!

3 goals....she's a SUPERSTAR:worship: Wishing them good luck and an exciting game!!

They are both playing very well. I wish they would play travel soccer to play against better girls to improve their skills, but they don't want to commit so much time.

Glad you are here! :goodvibes Sorry about dh's surgery; I hope his recovery gets better. It is a very different packing experience. When we drive, I say "just in case" when we fly I decide that anything we "might" need can be purchased there if needed. Sorry that we will miss you by just a couple of weeks!

Thanks - game went well - wait to see these pics. :) They are headed towards the final; I hope they keep it up!
