Countdown Cruisers - Ringing in the New Year on the Disney Wonder - 12/31/2013

Hi Everybody. This will be our first cruise of any kind. I am a former Disney world cast member, so I am kind of biased towards all things Disney. I am bringing my sister and nephew (13) and would love to join in the fish extender group. Please let me know what I need to do. Thanks

I've added you to both lists on the first page. You're signed up for the FE.

Count us in for the FE list...4 people (me, DH, 2 DDs ages 18 and 210). Can't wait!

We just got back from WDW. We went on for 6 days (5 nights) for my daughter's high school graduation. Now that we're back, we can start to think about our back to back Galveston cruises! We're so psyched to be going on the 12/27 and 12/31 cruises. I couldn't resist the BTB since they cut our original Galveston cruise back from 7 nights to 4 nights. We'll be doing the FE on both cruises. These will be #12 and #13 for us!

Added you to the first post to both lists. We just got back from WDW too. We did 8 nights and we're doing the b2b as well! ;) We did our first back to back last summer out of New York and it was AMAZING! It was an 8 night and 5 night so made for a long cruise, and we LOVED it! Can't wait to do another back to back.

Hope everyone is enjoying their first official weekend of Summer. I gathered materials this week to start on FE gifts. I'm going to lay it all out and start this week I think. :goodvibes

We are jumping onboard:yay:

Mother and daughter (will be 18 by the time we sail:eek:)

We have cruised together a total of 22 times!!! Have been on the Wonder twice - 2001 and 2003!!

Wanted to do something different for New Year's Eve;) This should be fun!!!

Have read through the thread and am already excited to meet everyone and start planning! Have had this booked for awhile but have been dealing with graduation and college planning. Ready to get started planning this cruise now!!

Am just now learning out about FE's - I may need some help with ideas for appropriate gifts!

Looking forward to chatting over the next few months!!

Lynette

This is our 4th DCL cruise but the first where I have heard of FE's. Ksloane, it looks like you are making them?!? What kinds of things do we give. Thanks.

Signing up for the FE exchange is entirely voluntarily - it's a gift exchange.

I did a quick search on the boards and here's some info:

Thanks ksloane!! Great links.

You can sign us up for the FE. Lynette and Rachel (will be 18:eek:)

I thought I read something recently that said Disney is now limiting the size of the FE's due to destruction of the walls/fish outside the stateroom doors. Anyone else know anything about that before I make our FE?

I'm also trying to figure out how to get the actual picture for my countdown clock to show up - all I get are the letters in the URL. How do I get the actual countdown clock to show up???

Wonderful links. Can you please sign us up to join the FE?
Me (Elana), DH (Steven), DD (Jamie - 14) and DS (Max - 10)
Thanks!

I've added you both to the FE list.

I'm not sure about limiting the size of the FE. You might could post that out on the main board (and let us know what the answer is).

I don't think there is an issue with the hanging FE, just the over-the-door shoe holders on hooks that scratch the top of the doors.

What are you using for your countdown ticker? I use disticker.com, so it's easy to paste the link in there. You basically just add the url link into your signature. :thumbsup2

I tried that but as you can see, it just comes up as letters :confused3

This is html code (That you are using)...You need the one that says BB Code (on distickers)

I think this might work, but if not, you'll have to go back and find the code.
use this link from your sig: http://distickers.com/ticker/tickers/8jrx24jd93punw68.png

And put
after it

Hail New Year's Eve cruisers!

My family just got back from our first ever cruise - The June 23rd sailing on the Dream to Nassau.

We had been looking at this New Year's Eve cruise as a possible second depending on what we thought during the Dream cruise.

Well, we loved it and took advantage of the on board booking and will be joining you fine people on the 31st. Getting to sail while the kids are out of school with a short drive down from Houston was too good to let pass.

I don't think we'll be doing the FE, but I don't rule it out.

For now, it's myself, the wife, Son 8 and Daughter 12.

Guess I better go get a new badge for the upcoming cruise :)

Welcome! Glad that you had such a great time on the Dream. NYE on a cruise ship just has all the promises of a great time! :dance3::cheer2: The short drive to Galveston as opposed to flying over to FL is awesome. :thumbsup2

Welcome to the crew. I can't wait to be able to drive to port. I only wish I had been able to schedule more Galveston cruises while they were here. Just didn't work well with our schedule.

Would love some kind of artwork for our cruise...a badge, logo, or something.

My brother has decided to join us. So, it will be my nephew (13), my sister (47), my brother (39), and me (43) participating in the FE. Thanks for the idea links. I'm so excited.:cheer2:
