Countdown Clock Question

I'm trying to make a counter and can't enter the time. When I try to enter a number in the time field by the pull-down menu it becomes white with a line underneath. If I try to enter it w/o the pull-down menu it won't accept anything. It is a required field so I'm not getting anywhere. Is there something about the time field that I don't understand? Reading the instructions they just say to choose the hour, minute and second you would like your Countdown Timer to finish...etc.
