You can -
Do an Internet Search on something called 'DisneyTime' and download it. It's a free ware program written by a fellow Disney Nut that does a count down for you. It also has little trivia quotes that will pop up, very cute.
You can download a program called Countdown 99. It's a free ware program from a company called Contact Plus, they're at
www.contactplus.com and then go to Products and then free downloads. This program will let you enter up to 25 events to countdown to. It will give you a display in several formats, here's a copy and paste of mine:
It is now Wednesday 05/22/2002 at 5:38:39 PM
Event: Oct Cruise on Disney Wonder
Scheduled For 10/17/2002 05:00 PM
4 months 25 days 23 hours 21 minutes 21 seconds or
21 weekends or
148 days or
3,551 hours (2,367 waking hours) or
213,081 minutes or
12,784,880 seconds
You can copy the one that you have in your signature into a stand alone webpage that you can keep on your desktop. Here's how to do it:
Go to the pages where you made the one in your signature.
Go thru it again so you can make a new copy of it.
After the preview, click the button to generate / produce the script so that it will be highlighted.
Do a right click and select 'copy' so that it is copied into your Windows Clipboard.
Now minimize or close all of the Dis pages and go to your Windows desktop.
Find an area that doesn't have a toolbar or an icon, do a right click, and select 'New' and then choose 'Text Document'.
Select a meaningful name for the text file, such as 'My New Countdown.txt' (without the quotes, of course). Be sure to retain the file extension of '.txt' so that it stays as a text file.
Double click on the new icon and open it to full screen.
On the Menu Bar, go to Edit and make sure you have a check mark to the left of 'Word Wrap' so that the text automatically flows to a new line when necessary.
Now do a right click and then choose 'Paste' from the options shown. This does a copy and paste from the screen that created the script to the new text document. Now just do a File and Save, then close out.
Now do a right click on the desktop icon (mine is called My New Countdown.txt) and then click on the Rename option. Rename the file so that it has the extension of 'html', without the quotes. (my file will now be called My New Countdown.html). Press the enter key to process the name change and answer Yes to the box that says 'Are you Sure...'.
Now you can just double click on the icon and it will show your countdown timer on the page by itself. You can manually resize the window, if you care to.
If you'd like to add more text info above the counter -
While it is opened on your screen, on the menu bar, click on the View and then Source option.
You can type regular text above the code for the countdown, such as :
This is My Cruise, I can't Wait, and You Aren't Coming Along! (or whatever you'd like to say)
and then click on File / Save, then on File / Exit. You can press the F5 key or the Refresh icon to see the new changes show up. Or you can close the icon and then reopen it.
Hope that helps
