We thoroughly enjoyed our short Halloween weekend stay.

Room 1111 is a HA studio, we don't need one that's HA but it was fine. The fact that you can rent bikes by the day or length of stay is wonderful, we used the bikes to get everywhere including the wonderful beach house and beach!

We spent Friday and Sunday afternoon enjoying the sights, and most importantly the tastes of Savannah, (Paula Deen's family make great fixens)!

Saturday was our resort day and we did take the Dolphin excursion with Captain Greg. He was very good, and when I asked him about pelicans, he produced a Peterson's guide which gave me the information I wanted! We enjoyed trick or treating where we met Shadow! Cute pup!! I know her reputation is for getting into trouble, but that dog is very well behaved!!! The campfire was fun...the whole weekend, was great!Well, except for the World Series games, Go Phils!!!!

Tom thought the trip was way too short, we're planning a much longer trip in January, 2012!:goodvibes Yes, we're all planners, right?:rotfl:

To all of you HHI owners, we think you have a lovely lovely wonderful home resort!!!!

I just got a studio at 7 mos for Memorial Day and the week following! So glad to read your report. I had to cancel my Visa promo stay. How was the weather?

I am going to try to book at 7 months out for July or last week of August at HHI or Vero (I currently have a GV booked at SSR, our home resort booked for last week of August). I don't have much hope from what I read on getting a Beach House or 2 bedroom (there will be 5 of us, my dh, me my mother and kids 12 adn 16) and a one bedroom but I'll give it a try. I know I could just get the 2 bedroom but we like the space.
I'll start calling next month and see what happens and put myself on a waitlist. I probably will have more luck at Vero in the summer but don't care which one. Thank you for your post. I look forward to trying Disney's HHI. We own a 3 bedroom t/s at Waterside by Spinnaker in HHI but can't wait to try Disney. Thanks.

The weather was perfect! The "high" that we had seen was either 77 or 80, with 20-30% chance of showers. We had sunny skies, and it was warm enough to be in the pool at 4PM for instance...didn't really need jackets or shirts for the campfire, and amazingly there was no problem with bugs that evening.

Sorry to hear that you had to cancel your Visa stay. It was because you posted that you had made it that I knew about the promotion. I said to Tom that I really must learn to read the papers that come with the Visa bill!!!! Have a great time over Memorial weekend! We're doing a 3 night cruise that weekend or I would be trying for a stay there too!!!

Pixie dust for you!!!pixiedust: We have a BC at VB for the last week in June, we do own there and I'm with you as far as having room to spread out! We get the BC for 7 of us and inn rooms for the others in our family.

Disney's HHI is really unlike the other timeshares that we saw...it does look authentic, as a fishing camp. I suppose I love the low country look...it looks like the last 10 miles or so along the Garden State Parkway. High tide, low tide, there's a huge difference in water level, and there's plenty of birds to see. However, what you also have in SC is the lovely Spanish moss hanging from the trees. It's soft and spooky and moved with the breeze, just what you wanted for Halloween!

The bike ride to the beach house is great because it's mostly in the shade of these tall trees.

At this time of the year there's a certain palm tree berry that's fermenting, and the grackles are enjoying the buzz they get from eating them. Lots of grackles around there right now.

I'm SO glad you loved it! I realize that the whole atmosphere isn't for everyone (even though it is for most of us), and I was hoping you'd enjoy it. And you even got to meet Shadow-what a treat! Thank you for enjoying one of our home resorts (50 points as our Christmas present to ourselves last year).

We have a reservation at HHI for May 29 to June 5 and are hoping we won't have to cancel this time. Hopefully I'll see you then!

Glad you liked HHI, Bobbi!

For those of you that have been to Disney's HHI, where do you go to the beach? Do you have to get in your car and drive?
I own another timeshare on HHI and if I have to get in my car and drive to the beach at Disney's, I rather just not use my points there at all.
Thanks.

We are at HH right now...checked in yesterday and we're in room 1921. So far, so good though the weather is not nearly as nice as last week seems to have been. Didn't get to 70 degrees today and the wind was pretty constant to make it feel even cooler.

I agree that the resort itself is quite nice. It is similar in feel to VWL which I happen to really like.

You don't have to get in your car but the beach is not within short walking distance. From what you say, I'd use your other timeshare on HHI if being on the beach is your objective.
