just taking a peek at all the 20th celebrations :goodvibes

ooooh it just all looks so good, I've been away from the boards for a while whilst I make a different kind of Disney plan ;) now seeing all this I don't think I can resist.

After an incredible christmas trip I promised dd a halloween one this year but the feedback from last year's halloween season was a bit disappointing, I can't decide if I should try some gentle persuasion away from this idea???

Thoughts please on my 2 possible dates, trying to come up with pro's and con's ...

02/09/12 3 nights, am I right in thinking we'd have later opening?

25/10/12 4 nights, would be the terrorific weekend and worry not much going on for dd

the September trip is for 1 night less and costs £1200 more inc flight prices being higher, ummmm that's it. Please add some pro's and con's or just opinions my lovely disboarder's

I'd go for the 2nd September (25th Oct for 4 nights will include a weekend, and almost everyone in Europe appears to be on half term holidays from 27th October this year). It will also be a lot colder at the end of October, compared with start of September. And yes, longer hours every day in September compared to late October.

How come the September trip is so much more expensive? Does it not have any discounts being applied to it? If it doesn't, I'm pretty sure it will if you hold off booking for a while. Could you look at booking your own transport separately? or staying at the Dream Castle or Magic Circus and buying yourselves annual passes (if your DD is still 6 when you go this year, you might be able to pick up a free pass for her if you buy one in a couple of months time).

Hello :goodvibes

Re September long hours, normally I think yes, as it's still lighter evenings and the Dream meals are going on until the end of the month and I can't see them only doing lunch only and then the show at 7pm :confused3

The Terrorific nights are only on in the Studios starting from 8.30pm so they don't run over into any other park, ok some of the vistors might be wandering around the Village before and during shopping and eating but the "scarey" antics are only for the special ticket holders.

There will be other Halloween activites (I hope) , lots of decorations (I can dream) and meet and greets in the main park for everyone during the day.

It will be way, way busier though end of October as it's school holdays :)

Thanks for the fast responses, I think I'm already talking myself out of the 25th Oct

I'm doing it all seperately, the Sept trip is showing the 40% off but whooops I added on a zero lol it's only £120 more but for one less night :headache:

I've been end August/beg Sept. The end of August was still silly busy and the first day or so of Sept, then it really calmed down (think the French & Italian/Spanish (?) kids went back around 3 Sept that year). The weather was fabulous, it was too warm the end of August, but did cool towards the end of our trip which was nice.

I've been put off Halloween due to reviews of it being dumbed down over the last 2 years in particular (esp so last year). I was there at the front end of 2008 and the park looked amazing. I don't think unless they take a return to that, that I would bother at that time of year again :sad2:. Also, as others say, sounds like it is going to be a busy one with all the school holidays :scared1:.

Perhaps you are paying more for Sept because it is longer opening hours :confused3. I really can't see there being extended hours right through the year this year - Dreams will come forward in time I'm sure.

Thanks, I'm as good as booked, spent the day obsessing ... Fingers crossed all the prices are the same tomorrow forgot to transfer the cash onto my credit card so need to wait for it to clear :headache:

The plan is to fly out spend 3 nights in Paris then off to dip on 1st sep for 3 nights at HNY

So now can anyone recommend any cheap and cheerful hotels for a base in Paris? I've been a few times but have stayed at religious buildings so need to look for something more mainstream.

Also can anyone give me a rough idea of budgeting the train to dlp and what a private shuttle runs from dlp to cdg .... I'm getting that crazy planning feeling :yay:
