Couldn't get Slinky FP today

I was online right at seven. We have a party of 5. All the fastpasses for the day I chose were gone. We are going 6/2-6/8. Does anyone have a similar experience on their 60 day mark? How likely am I to score a FP for it in the future? Thanks for any help. I'm pretty devastated.

What day into your trip did you try? It's best to put HS at the very end if you want Slinky.

6/6 Thursday. I put FOP at the end.

SDD has been harder to get than FOP since it opened. I couldn't get it on my last trip, did get it day of with about an hour of refreshing, and it was completely underwhelming. There are many better (faster, more exciting, gentler - really, any category) roller coasters - you are not missing much whereas FOP is unlike any other ride, so if you got an FOP FP, you're fortunate!

Yep same thing here. I couldn’t get it for that same day either. I ended up going with Toy Story. First time ever we failed at a FP booking. I was surprised how much trouble I had for booking a two week trip. I am cool with not getting SDD that day and we did get FOP the next day and SDD later in the trip but I couldn’t even get the times we wanted the second week. For the most part I got close but things were definitely picked over.

Glad to know I'm not alone. Our arrival day is the only day Studios hosts morning EMH for resort guest so we will miss it. I'm pretty frustrated that Disney is now hosting these paid EMH parties that would cost our group 600 dollars!! We cant do that. Ive never felt second class in all the years I've been staying on property. This year I totally feel it. Super bummed.

I'll be with 3 boys and their mom who is one of my best friends who have never been to Disney before. I love FOP but I'm afraid they'll be underwhelmed.

They're monetizing everything because they can. I think we will be paying for all FPs within a year, maybe two. That would probably make us stop going.

Not sure how old your kids are - FOP is AMAZING. My kids are 11 and 14 and they love it. Splash Mountain and Mine Train are similar to SDD in terms of gentleness/thrills/open air quality (SM is a lot inside, it's true) so I recommend getting those and telling your kids they're very similar, while also trying to get SDD the night before or day of via refresh - it could happen!

Yeah to be honest it’s not even worth it. Way over hyped! That said I still go on it with a fast pass or a low wait

Thank you! The boys are 15,12, and 8. They have no idea we're even going, we're telling them at the airport and pretending that they are just coming on a ride to drop me and their mom off for a trip to Mexico. I have no clue what they'll like and what they won't .We only have base tickets so we can't hop around, which is probably less overwhelming for them anyway. Lol. I just worry about too many things I guess. I was able to get 7DMT and SM though.

I also tried for SDD for 4 as soon as it opened today......no luck here either. I made the mistake of planning our HS day on 60 +1. Got everything else I wanted tho. Wilderness 6/2 to 6/10

Same here as well, I was on at 7AM on my FastPass Day and not able to get SDD. The difference is we plan on doing HS on our first full park day. I was able to get FOP which is 60+4 and everything else we wanted as well.

It frustrates me for as much as we pay to stay on property its not good enough to obtain the attractions we seek. They just want more more more.

Did you try to get the SDD FP first, or did you do your FPs in order starting with day 1?
If you never get your hands on a FP, get in line shortly before close. We did that last September and only waited 11 minutes. It's more fun in the dark, too.

I often get 'hard to get' FP's either the night before or day of. That is when you'll see the trading activity pick up. When you see one, take any time you get, then modify...modify...modify, until you get the time you want, this mass movement will make available times that others are giving up when they find better times.

Thanks for the tip! I went right to Thursdays date 6/6 at 7 and it was already gone.

Try standby about 1 hour before the park closes. That strategy has worked for us.
