got up for 5 am 14 days in a row at my 30 day window and still didn't manage to get fast pass + for mine train

Do they ever reappear later

We did not plan on going into Mk in the morning as a full day is too much for me so we try some parks a rope drop and others after 2 - MK was for the afternoon so we could stay for spectro and wishes. - Does the ride queue shorten late in the day. As we planed a second evening only here going in at 5pm to do some of the rides we would miss the first afternoon.

On a side not to those just back - is the view of the castle blocked from main street. We have a dinner booked at the plaza - I believe the view is blocked from there now - correct?

thanks

I was eating lunch at Columbia harbor house at around 11:30 in June and wanted to change our attraction for our next fastpass. Mine train did come up but it was pretty last, maybe 10:00 or so. I tried to grab it but either someone else took it or the system didn't acknowledge that I had a party of 4 when trying to search for new attractions.
I don't know about the view from inside of the plaza looking out at the castle but if anything I'd think you'd maybe only be able to see the top of the castle.

can you still see the castle from main st or are there boards across main st.

The fist day I could book FP was last Saturday morning. Got Minetrain no problem, just selected one person to start with then copied FP over to my husband and son.. Not exactly same time but they all overlap. We got 2.50pm. I had been testing it for about a week before and every day was ok ( except that I wouldn't be in Disney then) and I was getting much better times. Not sure whats happened since. I want to booked for late on 22nd August so hopefully will be ok.
Good luck.

Do you realise you can link your guests so you can book all your FP simultaneously? This is much easier if you want the same ones. I didn't do any copying for my DD just got her with mine.

I very much doubt it... 7DMT & A&E are like gold dust on certain dates at moment...
But id still keep looking daily as people to change and cancel FP's and plans etc....

I know somebody that got a FP for A&E for 5 yesterday she had gone weeks with no luck !

Yes but every time I did this it showed no availability for seven dwarfs. I found this tip on theme parks board and works well. So for instance this morning at 9am I checked seven dwarfs for 18th for all 3 of us and nothing available. I then looked just for me and times available from 7.55pm So booked for me. Then copied over to my husband first. Then my son. At first it gave me times that didn't overlap which would mean we'd have to ride separately. So I went into each persons fast pass and was able to change the time so I now have 3 different times but there are 10 minutes that overlap between all 3.
So we have

7.55 - 8.55
8.25 - 9.25
8.45 - 9.45

So we can ride together at 8.45 to 8.55

It's a real pain to be honest but only way to get them. We really want to go MK on evening of 22nd and if successful at getting mine train, will cancel 18th.

This ride is the only one I have had an issue with. Toy Story Mania, no issues atall and seem to get anytime. Everything else I have booked all 3 FP at the same time in one go, much easier.

We managed to get 7DMT early in our trip but because we are AP holders we could only do 7 days of FP's. We couldn't do our final day until we got here and used some. I tried & tried for 7DMT but no chance. Last night was I final visit so the only way we could do it was standby, after reading reviews we decided to try while Spectromagic was just ending. Time said 75 mins but it was just over 30 mins in reality. As we came out of the exit Wishes was just coming to an end.
What I have noticed is, the big difference is FP+ people don't use them while parades & fireworks are on so the regular line goes a lot faster. Once the parade/fireworks are over everyone piles into the FP+ lines really slowing the standby line.
After we came off 7DMT we went on the Speedway, said 10 mins with hardly anyone waiting(25 people?) but the fireworks had just finished so the FP+ line grew and we were so slow, almost 20 mins in the end.

every time i read anything about FP+ i wonder what it must be like now to visit the parks for the complete newbie visitor....
the visitor who just goes without any advance research or anything..
i would think their visit is a total bust.
so many of the standby lines are nightmares now.
Even those rides that never used to have a line, but do now..

i don't know..
it seems FP+ may be resulting in some people having a much worse time than they might have otherwise.

My thoughts exactly for people who have no knowledge of the system tips etc. it must be a nightmare eg newbies who have booked on ID and have no insight or guidance in ADR, how many little girls will be heartbroken because they can't meet Elsa & Anna .

did you see the video of anna & elsa? a guy who had a FP for it took the video - first he shows the standby line - it's 180 minutes long...that's 3 hours!!!!
and he shows the endless line with little girls in tow.....can you imagine standing in a 3 hour line for a 2 minute character meet and greet...(if that long)..

i can't imagine it...

It was 300mins when we went in late April. It took quite a bit of bribery to convince my 4year old DD not to queue for it!

I read that it reached 7.5hrs over Easter apparently. Completely Crazy!

Crazy that anyone would put their kid trough that kind of line. Or themselves. Learn how to say no people. It's part of been a parent!

Friend of Matt is in MK now, at 1pm he got FP+ for 6:30pm today for 7DMT but there are only 2 of them, larger numbers will be more difficult but shows you can get them same day.

I think the reason the queue could get so long was loads of dads (and mums but we saw a lot more dads) were queuing on behalf of the whole family who would go away for a few hours then come back as dad was near the front.

I'd probably suffer a couple of hours tops for them at the moment as long as I could get netflix to work in the park or something! What else are dads for!

i thought they don't permit place holding in line

That was just one weekend at Easter in Epcot so maybe they stopped it but when we saw the queue it was probably 30 people and we were about to join it when a cm made us aware it was about 4 hours worth of families being represented by those 30 people and we left.

well maybe they decided that for those attractions they have to do that.
crazy.
it really is crazy.
